 Das Jazz-Akkordeon-Festival 2024 findet vom 15. bis 17. März 2024 in Castelfidardo und Osimo, Italien, statt. Eintritt frei.Die Eröffnungsveranstaltung findet am 15. März um 22 Uhr im On Stage Club in Castelfidardo mit einem Improvisationskonzert mit Jovan Pavlovic in der Hauptrolle statt. „Ein Musiker, der schwer zu klassifizieren ist, der aber unserer Sprache treu bleibt: Jovan ist serbischer Herkunft und lebt heute in Oslo. Er verbindet die Tradition seines ohnehin schon sehr dichten, polyrhythmischen und komplexen Landes mit der für die nordischen Länder typischen moderneren und verfeinerten Forschung . „Eine Synthese zwischen Balkankultur und skandinavischer Erfahrung, auf originelle Weise mit der Freibasstechnik übersetzt“, erklärt die künstlerische Leiterin Simone Zanchini. Pavlovic greift auf einen einzigartigen und bahnbrechenden künstlerischen Ausdruck des Akkordeons durch eine ungewöhnliche Kombination von Elementen aus Jazz, Folk, klassische und traditionelle Musik. Jovan nimmt den Zuschauer mit auf eine eindrucksvolle Reise durch die Weltmusik mit seinem kreativen Ansatz, der sich in Rhythmus, Harmonien und improvisatorischer Lyrik widerspiegelt. Eintritt frei. Anschließend gibt es eine Jam-Session für alle Jazzliebhaber Am 16. März um 22 Uhr wird Marius Preda (Rumänien) im On Stage Club in Castelfidardo auftreten, begleitet von der JAF-Rhythmusgruppe bestehend aus Daniele Marconi (Kontrabass), Zeno le Moglie (Schlagzeug) und Thomas Lasca (Gitarre). Marius Preda ist einer der talentiertesten und bekanntesten Zymbalisten und Multiinstrumentalisten der Welt und ein Interpret des traditionellsten Jazz im Sinne des amerikanischen Mainstreams: „ein außergewöhnliches Talent, eines der kristallklarsten, die ich in meiner Karriere erlebt habe“. erklärt die künstlerische Leiterin Simone Zanchini. „Er spielt wunderbar Akkordeon, Klavier, Vibraphon und Violine und die Tatsache, dass er keinen ausschließlichen Akkordeon-Hintergrund hat, macht seine Sprache noch jazziger. Eine außergewöhnliche Gelegenheit, ihn kennenzulernen und zu schätzen.“ Marius Preda gilt als einer der originellsten, produktivsten und einflussreichsten Musiker in der Geschichte der neueren Musik. Preda wurde 1977 in Bukarest als Sohn einer Musikerfamilie geboren und verfügte über ein anerkanntes Talent am Zymbal. Er widmete sich dem Studium des Jazzakkordeons und des Vibraphons am Königlichen Konservatorium in Den Haag und erhielt den Spitznamen „Der Tiger der Welt“. Conservatory“ als Hommage an seine virtuosen und energiegeladenen musikalischen Fähigkeiten. Dank seiner einzigartigen und charismatischen Spielweise war Preda der erste Zymbalspieler der Geschichte, der auf den wichtigsten und renommiertesten Festivals und Jazzclubs der Welt auftrat. Freier Eintritt: Jam-Session, offen für alle Das JAF-Abschlusskonzert mit Stafano & Iorio wird dank der Zusammenarbeit mit der Gemeinde Osimo am 17. März um 18 Uhr im Teatro La Fenice in Osimo stattfinden. Das stilvolle und bewährte Duo Gianni Iorio & Pasquale Stafano bietet ein für ein großes Publikum geeignetes Konzert, bei dem das Bandoneon der Protagonist ist, ein Balginstrument in der Nähe des Akkordeons. Gianni Iorio ist ein Akkordeonist, der sich in den letzten Jahren auf das Bandoneon spezialisiert hat und zu einem seiner maßgeblichsten Interpreten geworden ist. Er führt durch seine Kompositionen eine sehr persönliche Forschung durch und verwendet dabei eine sehr artikulierte Sprache, die weit über „nur“ Tango hinausgeht, begleitet von der Kreativität eines führenden Arrangeurs und Pianisten wie Pasquale Stafano. Der Pianist, Komponist und Arrangeur Pasquale Stafano hat als Leader fünf Alben für wichtige Plattenlabels wie Philology, Jazzhaus Records, Enja Records und Sony Classical aufgenommen. Er ist der Schöpfer und künstlerische Leiter des „Stornarella International Music Festival“, das im Sommer in Stornarella in der Provinz Foggia stattfindet. Seine Komposition „Milonguita“ wurde arrangiert und in das Album „Hora cero“ des berühmten Ensembles „Die 12 Cellisten der Berliner“ aufgenommen Philharmoniker. Gianni Iorio, geboren 1972, ist Protagonist einer glänzenden Konzerttätigkeit als Pianist und Bandoneonist. Er hat für die Labels Real Sound, Philology, Dodici Lune, Jazzhaus, Universal, Rai Trade, Enja Records und Act aufgenommen und in den renommiertesten Theatern der Welt mit dem „Oscar-prämierten“ Musiker Luis Bacalov gespielt, der sagt: das Duo: „Gianni, er spielt mit einer Professionalität und Genauigkeit, die ihn zu einem der besten Bandoneonisten machen, die ich je gehört habe.“ Ich schätze Pasquale wirklich für seine Autorität und den fesselnden Sound, den er zu erzeugen fähig ist. Mai 2024 in Alcobaça, Portugal, statt und wird von Aníbal Freire, dem Präsidenten des Portugiesischen Akkordeonverbandes, organisiert. Die Veranstaltung umfasst sechs Konzerte, drei Meisterkurse sowie die 27. nationale Trophäe und den 8. internationalen Akkordeonwettbewerb, die am 25. und 26. Mai 2024 stattfinden werden. | "Tango Bardo" (Argentinien) wird im April 2024 eine Konzerttournee durch Neuseeland unternehmen, die auch einen Auftritt beim Oceania Tango Congress & Championship in Auckland beinhaltet. Die Bandmitglieder sind Santiago Polimeni (Bandoneon), Lucas Furno (Violine), Juan Miguens (Kontrabass), Lorena Donvito (Klavier) und Roberto Minondi (Gesang). Ihre Konzerte "führen Sie durch die 'Evolution des argentinischen Tangos' von der Goldenen Ära bis in die heutige Zeit, mit verschiedenen Stilen von Orchestern und Komponisten wie D'Arienzo, Canaro, Fresedo, Biagi, Di Sarli, Tanturi, D'Agustino, Pugliese und Piazzolla." |

| Das Pulsar Festival 2024 findet vom 6. bis 14. März 2024 in Dänemark statt und wird vom Det Kongelige Danske Musikkonservatorium (DKDM) organisiert. Das Festival ist das eigene Festival der Studenten des Konservatoriums und steht unter dem Motto der neuen Musik, die von den Studenten komponiert und von Instrumental- und Gesangsstudenten aufgeführt wird. In diesem Jahr arbeitet das Festival mit dem DR Vocal Ensemble zusammen, das Werke von vier Studenten uraufführt, und kooperiert mit der Königlich Dänischen Akademie der Schönen Künste sowie mit den Veranstaltungsorten H15, Klub PRiMi und Bodega 48. Außerdem werden sie den 100. Geburtstag der dänischen Elektroakustik-Pionierin Else Marie Pade und den 150. Geburtstag von Charles Ives mit Uraufführungen und Aufführungen ihrer Werke feiern. Am 11. März 2024 ab 19.30 Uhr findet das Konzert "Akkordeon und Almqvist-Lieder" in der Frederiksberg-Kirche in Frederiksberg, Kopenhagen, statt. Der am DKDM ausgebildete portugiesische Akkordeonist Jose Valente hat im Rahmen seines Forschungsprojekts vier Werke bei aktuellen und ehemaligen Studenten des DKDM in Auftrag gegeben, die an diesem Abend alle uraufgeführt werden. | Der 2024 Che Bandoneon International Competition steht Bandoneonspielern aller Nationalitäten offen, die bis zum 1. August 2024 mindestens 18 Jahre alt sein müssen. Die Vorrunde wird online ausgetragen. Die Endrunde des Wettbewerbs findet vom 6. bis 19. August 2024 in Stowe, Vermont, USA, im Rahmen des Stowe Tango Music Festival 2024 statt. Zeitplan: - 31.  Was planen Sie für den Weltakkordeon-Tag, um das Akkordeon in Ihrem Land zu fördern? Der Weltakkordeon-Tag ist am 6. Mai, dem Tag, an dem das Akkordeon 1829 patentiert wurde.Der Weltakkordeon-Tag wurde 2009 von der Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes (CIA) ins Leben gerufen und bisher sehr erfolgreich, was für das Akkordeon viel positive Resonanz brachte. Ein wichtiger Teil dieser Veranstaltung ist die Website des World Accordion Day. Jeder Verein, jede Gruppe, jedes Orchester, Performer und Lehrer wird gebeten, diese Veranstaltung aktiv zu unterstützen, indem er nationale und lokale Akkordeonaktivitäten an diesem Tag oder am Wochenende, vor oder nach demAkkordeon-Tages, falls dies besser in ein Programm passen sollte. Jeder kann seine Aktivitäten zum Weltakkordeon-Tag auf der Website registrieren und danach einen Bericht über seine Veranstaltung verfassen. Keine Veranstaltung ist zu groß oder zu klein. ALLE Akkordeonveranstaltungen zum Weltakkordeontag sind herzlich willkommen.  Veli Kujala (Finland) will hold a Masterclass at the 28th Okud Istra Accordion Summer Academy 2024 held in Pula, Croatia from July 8th to 13th, 2024.“Veli Kujala has gained a solid reputation as an outstanding interpreter of contemporary music on the accordion. In 2010 he completed his Doctor of Music -degree with distinction from the Sibelius Academy. He is a prizewinner of many international competitions for soloists and for composition in the field of classical music.” “From the beginning of his career, Kujala has been very active in the field of jazz and improvised music and performs regularly with leading contemporary improvisers such as Frank Gratkowski, Achim Kaufmann, Harri Sjöström, Evan Parker etc. Currently the most active bands he is involved in include Gourmet and Sestetto Internazionale.” From 2020, Kujala is the head of the classical accordion department at the Sibelius Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki in Finland. |

 The “Aotango” Duo received two standing ovations during their recent sold-out concert at the Waiheke Musical Museum in Auckland, New Zealand this month.“What do you get when you put together a master violinist, Andrew Beer, and a multiple world champion accordionist, Grayson Masefield? A breathtaking whirlwind experience of wonderful music and virtuosity.” A special treat was provided by Grayson who played one of his pieces on Lloyd Whitaker’s Titano Cosmopolitan accordion (picture right). Museum creator, Lloyd Whittaker (1932 – 2021) established Whittakers Musical Museum 25 years ago. “There is a longstanding family connection between Grayson’s family and the museum. Grayson’s grandfather sold this accordion to Lloyd, Grayson’s mother and her accordion group played at the museum at a fundraiser in 1996, and recently Grayson himself helped with the curation of our accordion and concertina collection.” |

| “Cherish the Ladies” began their tour of the USA and Canada this week and will give Irish music, song and dance performances through to March 22nd, 2024. The tour will feature two special St Patricks Day concerts at the Irish Arts Center in New York City, USA on March 17th, 2024. The group includes Mirella Murray (accordion), Joanie Madden (flute, whistles, harmony vocals), Mary Coogan (guitar), Nollaig Casey (fiddle), Kate Purcell (lead vocals, guitar), Gabriel Donohue (piano) and dancers David Geaney (five-time World Champion), Tyler Schwartz (World Champion) and Noel Spillane (All-Britain Champion and Riverdance alumnus). |

 The Washington Metropolitan Accordion Society (WMAS) will celebrate their 21st Anniversary with a concert and workshop at the Sleepy Hollow United Methodist Church in Falls Church, Virginia, USA on February 25th, 2024 from 2pm.Special guest “Papa Joe” De Clemente (picture below) will perform at the event. The WMAS was the 2003 brainchild of Karen Malan-Uribe, who learned to play the accordion as a child in Michigan where her father ran a music school. Twenty one years on, Karen remains active but stepped down as president in 2010. AWW congratulates WMAS and wishes them many more years of encouraging love for the accordion! |

| The Moldo Duo of Radu Ratoi (multi world champion accordionist) and Stefan Diaconu (flute) will perform at the project launch of "Evenings in Harmony" at Icam Home 3rd floor in Chisinau, Moldova on February 29th, 2024 from 6pm. The "Evenings in Harmony" project provides “a space dedicated to cultural events that will delight the community periodically.” The Moldo Duo program entitled “Our Story” will provide the audience with “a musical experience that harmoniously combines flute and accordion”. The audience will also get the opportunity to sample sparkling wines from Apriori Wine. |

| The Con Zelo Accordion Association will hold their final Masterplay Concert at the Dutch Reformed Church in Hoogwoud, Netherlands on March 2nd, 2024, at 8.15pm. The event features an orchestra conducted by Christa Groeneveld, of advanced players from all over the Netherlands focused on playing together musically. Masterplay is organized by the quintet Vijfkwarts from the Con Zelo Accordion Association. Guest accordionist Vincent van Amsterdam will perform a number of solo works, and also perform with the orchestra. |

| Zoe Tiganouria will perform at International Women's Day Celebrations held at the Philological Association "Parnassos" in Athens, Greece on March 8th, 2024 at 8.30pm, organised by the Parnassos Philological Association. The concert, entitled "The Woman of Yesterday and Today", will feature Zoe who will “enchant with her orchestral compositions and songs, in the company of artists close to her such as the female string quartet Enchord and the Anima Libre children's choir directed by George Smanis.” Their program will include pieces exclusively for women such as "Sweet Daughter", "The night is leaning towards me" with lyrics by Constantinos Romanidis, "Por una Cabeza" (the well-known "Scent of a Woman") by Carlos Gardel, to favorite Greek Traditional songs for the Thracian woman that will give their own "feminine air" to the show.
