![]() The Accordion Examination Board of New Zealand Inc. is an independent Incorporated Society. Its function is to organise and operate examinations enabling accordionists of all ages to measure their progress through graded levels from Preliminary through grades one to eight. The ultimate attainment is the APDNZ, Accordion Performers Diploma of New Zealand and the ATDNZ, Accordion Teachers Diploma of New Zealand. Recipients of the Teachers Diploma are encouraged to apply to the Music Teachers Registration Board of New Zealand to become an Associate of the Institute of Registered Music Teachers (AIRMT). The Accordion Examination Board of New Zealand also administers a Scholarship Fund named in honour of the late Secretary, Mr. Allan Jones which is titled the Allan William Jones Memorial Scholarship Fund. The fund is used to subsidise tuition fees of outstanding students at all levels. The Scholarship winners and the amount of their grants are reported from time to time in the newsletter of the New Zealand Accordion Association. The Board is indebted to the following examiners whose highly skilled services are largely responsible for the Board's effectiveness: Mr. Silvio de Pra, Mrs Betty Dunbar, Mr Marcel Riethmann, Mrs Stephanie Poole and Mr. David Sell. The Board acknowledges every accordionist, teacher and parent whose support of the examinations is the greatest contributing factor in its successful operation.
