 Der Schwedische Akkordeonistenverband (SDR) ist (zum ersten Mal) Gastgeber des Winterkongresses der Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes (CIA), der vom 23. bis 25. Februar 2024 in Kungsbacka, Schweden, stattfindet.Kungsbacka liegt an der Westküste im südlichen Teil Schwedens, 20 Kilometer südlich von Göteborg. Die 151. Generalversammlung fand im Hotel Halland statt. Siebenunddreißig CIA-Offiziere und Delegierte aus 17 Ländern waren anwesend, um an einem sehr hektischen Wochenende mit Sitzungen, Konzerten und geselligem Beisammensein teilzunehmen. Der Bürgermeister von Castelfidardo, Roberto Ascani, war in Kungsbacka anwesend, um den Vertrag für die Ausrichtung des 77. Coupe Mondiale zu unterzeichnen, der vom 6. bis 10. September 2024 in Castelfidardo, Italien, stattfinden wird, und der auch vom CIA-Kongress genehmigt wurde. Zum ersten Mal in der Geschichte der CIA wird der Coupe Mondiale in der Stadt der Akkordeonhersteller stattfinden. Der 79. Coupe Mondiale in Stockholm, Schweden, im August 2026, wurde ebenfalls vom Kongress genehmigt. Viele andere Angelegenheiten wurden besprochen und ein wichtiges Thema war die Überarbeitung der CIA-Statuten, um den jüngsten EU-Anforderungen zu entsprechen. Am Freitagabend veranstaltete Karlssons Musik in seinem Geschäft einen Abend mit Abendessen, geselligem Beisammensein und Unterhaltung durch Hanna Blomberg (Violine) und Petter Ferneman (Akkordeon). Der Schwedische Akkordeonistenverband (SDR) veranstaltete am Samstagabend ein Konzert im Kungsbacka-Theater, bei dem mehrere führende schwedische Akkordeonisten auftraten, darunter Minna Weurlander und das Deseo String Quartet, das Malmö Accordion Quartet, Leo Florin und die Lars Karlsson Band. Djordje Peric (Bosnien und Herzegowina) trat ebenfalls als Überraschungsgast auf. Während des Konzerts wurde Ingvar Karlsson, der Gründer von Karlssons Musik, mit dem "Honored Friend of the Accordion Award" der CIA für seine herausragenden Beiträge zur internationalen Akkordeonbewegung ausgezeichnet. Im nächsten Jahr wird der CIA-Winterkongress vom 28. Februar bis 2. März 2025 in Plovdiv, Bulgarien, stattfinden. Zuvor freuen wir uns jedoch auf den 77.   Die Nominierungen für den 15. Orpheus Award 2024 - Italienische Akkordeonproduktionen des Jahres 2023 sind bekannt gegeben worden. Die Veranstaltung wird von der Associazione Promozione Arte organisiert: Gerlando Gatto (künstlerischer Leiter), Renzo Ruggieri (APA-Präsident), Giuseppe Di Falco (Sekretär) und Andrea Di Giacomo (Sekretär).Guy Klucevsek (USA - Bild rechts) erhält den italienischen 15. Orpheus Lifetime Achievement Award 2024 am 5. März 2024 um 19:00 Uhr. Dieser Preis ist eine internationale Anerkennung für seinen großen Beitrag zum Akkordeon und seine Akkordeonkompositionen während seiner langen Karriere. | Das Workshop-Wochenende 2024 wird vom 12. bis 13. April 2024 in St-Michielsgestel, Niederlande, stattfinden. Die Veranstaltung, die tagsüber 11 verschiedene Workshops und abends Ballfolk, Konzerte und Jamsessions umfasst, wird von der Stichting Draailier en Doedelzak organisiert. Riccardo Tesi (Italien) wird einen diatonischen Akkordeon-Workshop für G-C-Instrumente abhalten. Der Workshop umfasst das Erlernen von Stücken aus der italienischen Tradition und von Originalkompositionen, Probleme sowohl technischer Art (Verwendung des Balgs, Linear- und Kreuztechnik, Fingersatz, Koordination usw.) als auch interpretativer Art (Verzierungen, Ausdruck, Staccato und Legato usw.). Guus Herremans (Belgien) wird einen Workshop "Alle Instrumente - Ensemblespiel" abhalten, der sich an fortgeschrittene Spieler richtet. Neben dem Ensemblespiel wird Guus die Harmonie und die individuelle Entwicklung behandeln, wobei der Spaß im Vordergrund steht. |

| Das internationale Akkordeonfestival Akkordeonale 2024 wird im April 2024 an verschiedenen Orten in Deutschland stattfinden und von Servais Haanen organisiert. Bei der Veranstaltung werden "Musiker aus einer Vielzahl von Ländern auftreten, um einen überraschenden Ensemble-Mix aus allen Stilrichtungen zu schaffen". Das internationale Akkordeonfestival beginnt am 3. April und in den folgenden 34 Tagen werden 33 Konzerte präsentiert. Zu den Künstlern gehören Irene Tillung (Norwegen), Djordje Davidovic (Serbien), Marcello Squillante (Italien), Paul Schuberth (Österreich) und Servais Haanen (Deutschland/Niederlande).  Was planen Sie für den Weltakkordeon-Tag, um das Akkordeon in Ihrem Land zu fördern? Der Weltakkordeon-Tag ist am 6. Mai, dem Tag, an dem das Akkordeon 1829 patentiert wurde.Der Weltakkordeon-Tag wurde 2009 von der Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes (CIA) ins Leben gerufen und bisher sehr erfolgreich, was für das Akkordeon viel positive Resonanz brachte. Ein wichtiger Teil dieser Veranstaltung ist die Website des World Accordion Day. Jeder Verein, jede Gruppe, jedes Orchester, Performer und Lehrer wird gebeten, diese Veranstaltung aktiv zu unterstützen, indem er nationale und lokale Akkordeonaktivitäten an diesem Tag oder am Wochenende, vor oder nach demAkkordeon-Tages, falls dies besser in ein Programm passen sollte. Jeder kann seine Aktivitäten zum Weltakkordeon-Tag auf der Website registrieren und danach einen Bericht über seine Veranstaltung verfassen. Keine Veranstaltung ist zu groß oder zu klein. ALLE Akkordeonveranstaltungen zum Weltakkordeontag sind herzlich willkommen. Dies ist eine CIA - Promotion für das Akkordeon, WAD an der jeder Akkordeonliebhaber teilnehmen und helfen kann, unsere Akkordeonwelt zusammenzubringen und das Akkordeon entsprechend zu fördern. |

 Letztes Jahr begann die Accordionists & Teachers Guild, International (ATG) mit der Arbeit an der Erstellung eines professionellen Dokumentarfilms über das A World of Accordions Museum und den Museumskurator seit seiner Gründung, Dr. Helmi Harrington.Der Dokumentarfilm wurde gedreht und befindet sich in der Endphase der Produktion. Regie führt eines ihrer eigenen Mitglieder, Nikola Stojkovic, ein Filmproduzent und Autor, und wurde von Mobula Productions gedreht. Der Dokumentarfilm erzählt die Geschichte der Arbeit von Helmi Harrington über viele Jahrzehnte und erzählt die Geschichte des Akkordeons anhand der historischen Instrumentensammlung des Museums. ATG ist stolz darauf, diesen bedeutenden Beitrag zur Akkordeonwelt insgesamt zu leisten und freut sich, diese Schenkung dem Museum anbieten zu können. | Applications for the 17th Premio Andrea Parodi World Music Contest for artists from all over the world are now open and will close on May 9th, 2024. The competition finals will be held in Cagliari, Sardinia in Autumn, 2024. The event was created in honour of the distinguished Sardinian artist Andrea Parodi, who passed away in 2006, and is organized by the homonymous Foundation Artistic Director, Elena Ledda. Ten finalists will perform in Cagliari at the "Premio Andrea Parodi" Festival 2024, in front of a Jury composed of authoritative industry professionals (singers, musicians, writers and songwriters, poets, managers, producers, press offices, journalists), from international countries. The prize for the winner includes promotional concerts and performances in some of the partner music festivals in their 2025 editions, such as European Jazz Expo (Sardinia), Folkest (Friuli), and the Premio Andrea Parodi 2025. Some finalists will also be invited to other Partner Festivals, such as Mare e Miniere, Premio Bianca d’Aponte, Mo'l'estate Spirit Festival and Festival del Torto. Registration is free.  The 3rd annual Youth Concerto Festival 2024 will be held at the AfriForum Teater in Greenlyn Village-sentrum H.v., Menlo Park, Pretoria, South Africa on March 3rd, 2024.The event will feature a performance by the Pretoria Symphony Orchestra conducted by Jaco van Staden with accordion soloist Loren Ehlers. The previous day (March 2nd) Loren Ehlers will give a concert at the Pierneefteater Performing Arts Theatre in Pretoria at 7pm. His program at this event will include works by Scarlatti, Paganini, Scarabin, Bach, Diero, Tiersen and Olczak. See posters for details. |

| Guardia Nueva, conducted by Raimo Vertainen, will perform at the Janakkala Music Days 2024 with Jarkko Ahola (vocals) on March 8th, 2024 at 7pm. The event will be held at the Janakkalan Liikuntahalli (Janakkalan Sports Hall) in Turenki, Finland. “Guardia Nueva is a large entertainment and tango orchestra full of roaring power and immense sensitivity. The musical backbone of the orchestra has been emotional tango and entertainment music.” |

Louise will play a new jazz repertoire of pieces from Ravel to Brassens with Mathias Lévy (violin), Karsten Hochapfel (guitar), Grégoire Letouvet (piano), Alexandre Perrot (double bass) and Ariel Tessier (drums). | Archie Churchill-Moss will hold melodeon workshops at the Halsway Manor National Centre for Folk Arts in Crowcombe, Somerset, England on March 25th, 2024. The first workshop entitled “Getting Started” will be held from 10.30am to 1pm. This workshop is for players of the DG melodeon, levels 0 and 1 and will cover learning new tunes and techniques, while also developing a working knowledge of music theory. Attendees will be given time for individual help to support less confident players. The second workshop entitled “Getting Better” will be held from 2pm to 4.30pm and is aimed at levels 2, 3 & 4. This workshop aims to support and develop the skills of Improver and Intermediate level melodeon players in enjoyable workshop sessions. Attendees will be learning new tunes and techniques. | Australian accordionist John MacDonald will perform at the Richard Bonynge Concert Hall, Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre in Penrith, Sydney, Australia on March 27th, 2024. John MacDonald was New Zealand born and made a New Zealand Accordion Association (NZAA) Life Member in 1993, honouring his long career of music making mainly in Australia but also for decades on ships cruises. The concert entitled 2024 Morning Melodies “The Main Event” will include a variety of entertainers in addition to John, such as Grace Rizzo, Stephen Fisher-King and the Greg Hooper trio. |

| Miran Vaupotic will give an accordion workshop for soloists and chamber ensembles at the Elly Bašic Music School in Zagreb, Croatia on April 19th and 20th, 2024. “This is a unique opportunity to work with a conductor of international career who also graduated in accordion.” The workshop takes place through classes with participants, and is intended for accordion players of all ages with the participation of teachers and all interested parties. | Were you in any of these massed band photos? Do you have memories of American Accordionists' Association (AAA) events in photos that are special to you? I am creating an “ongoing” online article featuring photos from AAA events dating back to 1938. All events and all years are welcome! This article will be on the AAA website in the “Articles AAA History” section at https://www.ameraccord.com/articles.php It will be Article #43 and will hopefully grow regularly with all of your contributions! I have many boxes of photos and memorabilia from AAA achievements, events and competitions. It is important to me that this rich history of our now 86 year old organization will always be available to the public and accordion enthusiasts worldwide.
