 L'Association Suédoise des Accordéonistes (SDR) a accueilli (pour la première fois) le Congrès d'hiver de la Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes (CIA) à Kungsbacka, en Suède, du 23 au 25 février 2024.Kungsbacka est située sur la côte ouest, dans le sud de la Suède, à 20 kilomètres au sud de Göteborg. La 151ème Assemblée générale s'est déroulée à l'Hôtel Halland. Trente-sept officiers de la CIA et délégués de 17 pays étaient présents pour participer à un week-end bien rempli avec des réunions, concerts et rencontres. Le maire de Castelfidardo, Roberto Ascani, était présent à Kungsbacka pour signer le contrat, également approuvé par le Congrès de la CIA, pour l'accueil de la 77ème Coupe Mondiale qui se tiendra à Castelfidardo, en Italie, du 6 au 10 septembre 2024. Pour la 1ère fois dans l'histoire, la CIA organisera la Coupe Mondiale dans la Cité des producteurs d'accordéons. La 79e Coupe Mondiale à Stockholm, en Suède, en août 2026, a également été approuvée par le Congrès. De nombreuses autres questions ont été abordées, notamment la révision des statuts de la CIA afin de les rendre conformes aux récentes exigences de l'UE. Vendredi soir, Karlssons Musik a organisé une soirée dans son magasin avec dîner, rencontre et musique par Hanna Blomberg (violon) et Petter Ferneman (accordéon). L'Association Suédoise des Accordéonistes (SDR) a organisé un concert au Théâtre Kungsbacka samedi soir, avec des performances de plusieurs accordéonistes suédois de premier plan tels que Minna Weurlander et le Quatuor à cordes Deseo, le Quatuor d'Accordéons de Malmö, Leo Florin et le Lars Karlsson Band. Djordje Peric (Bosnie-Herzégovine) est également apparu comme artiste invité surprise. Pendant le concert, Ingvar Karlsson, le fondateur de Karlssons Musik, a reçu le prix "Ami Honoré de l'Accordéon" de la CIA pour ses contributions exceptionnelles au mouvement international de l'accordéon. L'année prochaine, le Congrès d'hiver de la CIA se tiendra à Plovdiv, en Bulgarie, du 28 février au 2 mars 2025.   Le 15ème Prix Orphée 2024 du Prix de la Critique - Productions italiennes d'accordéon, les nominations pour 2023 ont été annoncées. L'événement est organisé par l'Associazione Promozione Arte : Gerlando Gatto (directeur artistique), Renzo Ruggieri (président de l'APA), Giuseppe Di Falco (secrétaire) et Andrea Di Giacomo (secrétaire).Guy Klucevsek (États-Unis - photo de droite) recevra le 15e Orpheus Lifetime Achievement Award 2024 italien le 5 mars 2024 à 19h. Ce prix est une reconnaissance internationale pour sa contribution majeure à l'accordéon avec ses compositions pour l’accordéon au fil de sa longue carrière. | Le week-end de cours d'atelier 2024 se tiendra à St-Michielsgestel, aux Pays-Bas, du 12 au 13 avril 2024. L'événement, qui comprendra 11 ateliers différents pendant la journée, ainsi que des soirées bal folk, concerts et jam sessions, est organisé par Stichting Draailier en Doedelzak. Riccardo Tesi (Italie) animera un atelier d'accordéon diatonique pour instruments G-C. L'atelier abordera l'apprentissage de pièces de la tradition italienne et de compositions originales, des problématiques tant d'ordre technique (utilisation du soufflet, technique linéaire et croisée, doigté, coordination, etc.) que d'ordre interprétatif (ornementation, expression, staccato et legato, etc.). Guus Herremans (Belgique) animera un atelier Tout instrument – musique d'ensemble destiné aux musiciens de niveau avancé. En plus de la musique d'ensemble, Guus abordera l'harmonie et le développement individuel où le plaisir a une place primordiale. |

| Le Festival International d'Accordéon Akkordeonale 2024 se tiendra dans divers lieux à travers l’Allemagne durant le mois d’avril 2024, sous la direction de Servais Haanen. L’événement mettra en vedette « des musiciens d’une grande variété de pays pour créer un mélange d’ensemble surprenant dans tous les styles ». Le festival international de l'accordéon débute le 3 avril et durant les 34 prochains jours qui suivront, il y’aura 33 concerts. Parmi les interprètes figurent Irene Tillung (Norvège), Djordje Davidovic (Serbie), Marcello Squillante (Italie), Paul Schuberth (Autriche) et Servais Haanen (Allemagne/Pays-Bas).  Que faites vous la Journée de l’accordéon (World Accordion Day - WAD) pour promovoir l’accordéon dans votre pays ?La journée de l’accordéon est le 6 mai, qui est le jour où l’accordéon a été inventé en 1829. La journée de l’accordéon a été créé en 2009 par le CIA et a rencontré beaucoup de succès depuis, donnant une image positive de l’accordéon. Un des maillons essentiels de cet évènement est le site web de la Journée de l’accordéon. Chaque association, groupe, orchestre, joueur ou enseignant sont priés de soutenir activement cet évènement en proposant ce jour-là, dans leur pays, des activités nationales et locales autour de l’accordéon. Cela peut s’organiser aussi le week end d’avant ou après si c’était plus commode. Chacun peut inscrire son activité pour la journée de l’accordéon sur le site web et envoyer a posteriori un compte rendu qui sera publié sur le site. Aucun évènement n’est trop gros ou ni trop petit. Tous les évènements liés à l’accordéon pour célébrer la journée de l’accordéon seront les bienvenus. C’est une campagne organisée par le Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes (CIA) pour l’accordéon où tout féru d’accordéon peut participer, le but étant de renforcer les liens de la communauté autour de l’accordéon et de promouvoir l’instrument. |

 L'année dernière, la Guilde Internationale des Accordéonistes et des Enseignants (Accordionists & Teachers Guild, International - ATG) a commencé à travailler sur la création d'un documentaire professionnel présentant le Musée du Monde des Accordéons et le conservateur du musée depuis sa création, le Dr Helmi Harrington.Le documentaire a été filmé et est en phase finale de production. Il est réalisé par l'un de leurs membres, Nikola Stojkovic, producteur et écrivain, et a été filmé par Mobula Productions. Le documentaire raconte l'histoire du travail de Helmi Harrington sur plusieurs décennies et raconte l'histoire de l'accordéon à travers la collection historique d'instruments du musée. ATG est fier d'apporter cette contribution significative au monde de l'accordéon dans son ensemble et heureux d'offrir ce cadeau au Musée. | Applications for the 17th Premio Andrea Parodi World Music Contest for artists from all over the world are now open and will close on May 9th, 2024. The competition finals will be held in Cagliari, Sardinia in Autumn, 2024. The event was created in honour of the distinguished Sardinian artist Andrea Parodi, who passed away in 2006, and is organized by the homonymous Foundation Artistic Director, Elena Ledda. Ten finalists will perform in Cagliari at the "Premio Andrea Parodi" Festival 2024, in front of a Jury composed of authoritative industry professionals (singers, musicians, writers and songwriters, poets, managers, producers, press offices, journalists), from international countries. The prize for the winner includes promotional concerts and performances in some of the partner music festivals in their 2025 editions, such as European Jazz Expo (Sardinia), Folkest (Friuli), and the Premio Andrea Parodi 2025. Some finalists will also be invited to other Partner Festivals, such as Mare e Miniere, Premio Bianca d’Aponte, Mo'l'estate Spirit Festival and Festival del Torto. Registration is free.  The 3rd annual Youth Concerto Festival 2024 will be held at the AfriForum Teater in Greenlyn Village-sentrum H.v., Menlo Park, Pretoria, South Africa on March 3rd, 2024.The event will feature a performance by the Pretoria Symphony Orchestra conducted by Jaco van Staden with accordion soloist Loren Ehlers. The previous day (March 2nd) Loren Ehlers will give a concert at the Pierneefteater Performing Arts Theatre in Pretoria at 7pm. His program at this event will include works by Scarlatti, Paganini, Scarabin, Bach, Diero, Tiersen and Olczak. See posters for details. |

| Guardia Nueva, conducted by Raimo Vertainen, will perform at the Janakkala Music Days 2024 with Jarkko Ahola (vocals) on March 8th, 2024 at 7pm. The event will be held at the Janakkalan Liikuntahalli (Janakkalan Sports Hall) in Turenki, Finland. “Guardia Nueva is a large entertainment and tango orchestra full of roaring power and immense sensitivity. The musical backbone of the orchestra has been emotional tango and entertainment music.” |

| Louise Jallu (bandoneon) will perform at Maison De La Radio et De La Musique - Studio 104 (picture below) in Paris, France on March 9th, 2024 from 7pm. Louise will play a new jazz repertoire of pieces from Ravel to Brassens with Mathias Lévy (violin), Karsten Hochapfel (guitar), Grégoire Letouvet (piano), Alexandre Perrot (double bass) and Ariel Tessier (drums). The concert will be broadcast live on France Musique, radio station. |

| Archie Churchill-Moss will hold melodeon workshops at the Halsway Manor National Centre for Folk Arts in Crowcombe, Somerset, England on March 25th, 2024. The first workshop entitled “Getting Started” will be held from 10.30am to 1pm. This workshop is for players of the DG melodeon, levels 0 and 1 and will cover learning new tunes and techniques, while also developing a working knowledge of music theory. Attendees will be given time for individual help to support less confident players. The second workshop entitled “Getting Better” will be held from 2pm to 4.30pm and is aimed at levels 2, 3 & 4. This workshop aims to support and develop the skills of Improver and Intermediate level melodeon players in enjoyable workshop sessions. Attendees will be learning new tunes and techniques. | Australian accordionist John MacDonald will perform at the Richard Bonynge Concert Hall, Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre in Penrith, Sydney, Australia on March 27th, 2024. John MacDonald was New Zealand born and made a New Zealand Accordion Association (NZAA) Life Member in 1993, honouring his long career of music making mainly in Australia but also for decades on ships cruises. The concert entitled 2024 Morning Melodies “The Main Event” will include a variety of entertainers in addition to John, such as Grace Rizzo, Stephen Fisher-King and the Greg Hooper trio. |

| Miran Vaupotic will give an accordion workshop for soloists and chamber ensembles at the Elly Bašic Music School in Zagreb, Croatia on April 19th and 20th, 2024. “This is a unique opportunity to work with a conductor of international career who also graduated in accordion.” The workshop takes place through classes with participants, and is intended for accordion players of all ages with the participation of teachers and all interested parties. Rheinland-Palatinate will hold a course "Prophylaxis and First Aid on Accordion" at the Clubhouse of the Harmonika Spielring Frankenthal in Frankenthal, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany on April 21st, 2024. I am creating an “ongoing” online article featuring photos from AAA events dating back to 1938. All events and all years are welcome! This article will be on the AAA website in the “Articles AAA History” section at https://www.ameraccord.com/articles.php It will be Article #43 and will hopefully grow regularly with all of your contributions! I have many boxes of photos and memorabilia from AAA achievements, events and competitions. It is important to me that this rich history of our now 86 year old organization will always be available to the public and accordion enthusiasts worldwide.
