  Der 77. Coupe Mondiale der Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes (CIA) wird vom 6. bis 10. September 2024 in Castelfidardo, Italien, stattfinden. Gastgeber der Veranstaltung sind das italienische CIA-Mitglied Italian Accordion Culture(IAC) und die Stadt Castelfidardo, die Stadt der Akkordeonhersteller.Der Präsident der CIA , Mirco Patarini, und der Generalsekretär der CIA , Kimmo Mattila, laden alle Akkordeonspieler, -lehrer und -fans herzlich ein, am Coupe Mondiale 2024 teilzunehmen, bei dem folgende Konzerte und Wettbewerbe stattfinden werden: - 77. Coupe Mondiale - Masters Coupe Mondiale - Junior Coupe Mondiale - Internationaler Wettbewerb für virtuose Unterhaltungsmusik - Internationaler Junior-Wettbewerb für virtuose Unterhaltungsmusik - Kammermusik - Klassisch - Kammermusik – Weltmusik 2024 Regeln und Vorschriften unter: Coupe Mondiale Hotelinformationen werden in Kürze veröffentlicht. Erstes Nordisches Akkordeonlehrersymposium 2024 - Dänemarkby Grayson Masefield |

 Unter der Organisation von Professor Geir Draugsvoll (Bild links) veranstaltete die Königlich Dänische Musikakademie vom 29. Februar bis 2. März 2024 in Kopenhagen, Dänemark, das bahnbrechende Erste Nordische Akkordeonlehrersymposium.Ziel der Veranstaltung war es, Pädagogen und Studenten zu inspirieren und gleichzeitig eine Plattform für den Austausch zwischen jungen Akkordeonisten zu bieten. Das Symposium umfasste sieben Hauptvorträge über Akkordeonpädagogik, in denen innovative Lehrmethoden vorgestellt wurden, sowie Präsentationen, die sich mit dem Stand der Akkordeonausbildung in den einzelnen Ländern befassten. In drei Konzerten wurden Uraufführungen und Darbietungen von Ensembles und Solisten, darunter auch Studenten der Königlich Dänischen Musikakademie, präsentiert.  Die XVI Dani Harmonike und der 1. Accordion Euro Coupe werden vom 18. bis 22. April 2024 in Bijeljina und Ugljevik, Bosnien und Herzegowina, abgehalten.Der Akkordeon-Euro-Coupe-Wettbewerb zum ersten Mal im Rahmen des XVI. Dani-Harmonike-Festivals ausgetragen und umfasst Kategorien für Solisten, Senioren-Klassiker und Senioren-Virtuosen und findet im Kulturzentrum "Semberija" (Bild unten) im Stadtzentrum von Bijeljina statt.   Das Orkney Folk Festival wird vom 23. bis 26. Mai 2024 in Orkney, Schottland, stattfinden. Das Festival wurde im vergangenen Jahr bei den MG Alba Scots Trad Music Awards als "Event of the Year" 2023 ausgezeichnet.Zu den Interpreten gehören "The Chair" (Bild oben links), zu denen auch der Akkordeonist Bob Gibbon gehört, der in diesem Jahr auf dem Festival sein 20-jähriges Bestehen feiern wird. Die Gruppe spielt "einen turbogeladenen Mix aus Folk, Blues, Rock, Dub, Klezmer und mehr". Weitere Künstler sind Karen Tweed, Genticorum (Bild oben rechts - Akkordeonist Nicholas Williams), The Glencraig Scottish Dance Band (Bild unten - Nicol McLaren am Akkordeon), Mairtín O'Connor, Orkney Accordion and Fiddle Club, Orkney Strathspey and Reel Society, Orkney Traditional Music Project (eine Gruppe, die traditionelles Akkordeon und Fiddle spielt) und Rum Ragged. |

| Akkordeonistinnen und Akkordeonisten von Musikschulen, Gymnasien und höheren Bildungseinrichtungen sind eingeladen, am IV. Internationalen Wettbewerb für Akkordeonspieler "Concord of Sounds 2024" teilzunehmen, der am 24. und 25. April 2024 live und virtuell stattfinden wird. Die Veranstaltung findet in der Musik- und Kunstschule Marupe in Jaunmarupe, Marupes novads, Lettland, statt. Der Wettbewerb wird von der Musik- und Kunstschule Marupe in Zusammenarbeit mit der Akkordeonklasse der lettischen Musikakademie Jazeps Vitols, der Confédération Mondiale de l'Accordéon (CMA), dem Internationalen Musikschulverband "Con Anima" und dem Verein "MMMS AB" organisiert.  Was planen Sie für den Weltakkordeon-Tag, um das Akkordeon in Ihrem Land zu fördern? Der Weltakkordeon-Tag ist am 6. Mai, dem Tag, an dem das Akkordeon 1829 patentiert wurde.Der Weltakkordeon-Tag wurde 2009 von der Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes (CIA) ins Leben gerufen und bisher sehr erfolgreich, was für das Akkordeon viel positive Resonanz brachte. Ein wichtiger Teil dieser Veranstaltung ist die Website des World Accordion Day. Jeder Verein, jede Gruppe, jedes Orchester, Performer und Lehrer wird gebeten, diese Veranstaltung aktiv zu unterstützen, indem er nationale und lokale Akkordeonaktivitäten an diesem Tag oder am Wochenende, vor oder nach demAkkordeon-Tages, falls dies besser in ein Programm passen sollte. Jeder kann seine Aktivitäten zum Weltakkordeon-Tag auf der Website registrieren und danach einen Bericht über seine Veranstaltung verfassen. Keine Veranstaltung ist zu groß oder zu klein. ALLE Akkordeonveranstaltungen zum Weltakkordeontag sind herzlich willkommen. Dies ist eine CIA - Promotion für das Akkordeon, WAD an der jeder Akkordeonliebhaber teilnehmen und helfen kann, unsere Akkordeonwelt zusammenzubringen und das Akkordeon entsprechend zu fördern. |

  The opening concert of the 2024 "Accordéons-nous.org" 6th International Festival, held in Mons, Belgium will feature accordionist Klaudiusz Baran (Poland) on April 18th.On April 19th, at 12.15pm, Steve Normandin will give a lecture on his new book tracing the life of Edith Piaf. He will mainly cover the topic "Piaf and its Accordionists". The will be a concert by Klaudiusz Baran. Tonino Alessandrini, accordion builder and repairer, attends the event.  The Centrum Blues Camp will be held at the Centrum Campus in Port Townsend, Washington, USA from July 29th to August 4th, 2024.Camp instructor and accordionist, Bruce Sunpie Barnes is a “veteran New Orleans musician, former Park Ranger with the National Park Service for 30 years, actor, photographer, book author, former high school biology teacher, former college football All-American, and former NFL player (Kansas City Chiefs).” “Sunpie Barnes’ many careers have taken him far and wide. He has traveled to over 50 countries playing his own style of what he calls Afro-Louisiana music incorporating Blues, Zydeco, Gospel, Caribbean and African influenced rhythms and melodies.” “Now in its 30th year, the Port Townsend Acoustic Blues Festival continues to offer a side of the blues that popular culture does not always recognize – its roots! | The deadline for entry applications for participation in the VII All-Russian open competition for accordionists "Yugoria - 2024" has been extended. The competition will be held at the Surgut Music College in Surgut, Russia from April 4th to 8th, 2024. This musical festival will be dedicated to two significant events: the 150th anniversary of the birth of well known composer and teacher E.F. Gnessina, as well as the 430th anniversary of the founding of the city of Surgut. The jury features musicologist and composer, People's Artist of the Russian Federation, professor of the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music, Viatcheslav Semionov. A number of their concerts have been sold out. Skerryvore are a multi-award winning Scottish band creating a ‘trad-rock’ fusion that has seen them perform in over 25 countries worldwide. | Dmitry Khodonovich will perform a solo concert at the IX International Competition "Pearl of the Kuban", which will take place at the Small Concert Hall, located at 240 room 2 of the educational building of the Krasnodar State Institute of Culture in Krasnodar, Russia on March 11th, 2024 at 4pm. Dmitry Khodanovich is a laureate of the international Grand Prix competition in France and a student of composer and Honored Artist of Russia, Vladimir Bonakov. His work is permeated with bright and unique sounds that have won recognition both in Russia and abroad. Dmitry Khodanovich's concerts are a unique opportunity to plunge into the world of button accordion and classical music. |

St Patricks Day Parade

| Accordion entertainer, Tracey Collins will take part in the St Patricks Day Parade with Marian Burns (violin), which will take place on Queen Street, Auckland, New Zealand on March 17th, 2024, from midday, organised by the Hugh Green Group. “The parade will feature traditional Irish music and dance performers, colourful floats, costumes and marching bands, celebrating the spirit of Ireland on Auckland's main street.” Following the parade, Tracey will entertain at the St Patricks Day Hooley, held at Florry McGreals Irish Pub in Takapuna, Auckland at 8pm with the “Pat for President” band. | A new CD named “30x30” launch presentation will take place on March 19th, 2024, at the Marucelliana Library in Florence, Italy. The CD “30x30”, is “an exciting sonic journey that will take you through new musical perspectives. | The Christchurch Accordion Orchestra directed by David Thorne and the St Albans Community Choir directed by Heather Gladstone QSM will hold a concert entitled “St Valentine Meets St Patrick” on March 17th, 2024 at 5pm.  Jenny’s Accordionists will hold a concert to celebrate the life of Richard Gregory at the All Saints Church in Fordham, Essex, England on April 13th, 2024 from 7pm.Jenny’s Accordionists were first formed in the late 1950's by teacher and conductor, Jennifer Neal (née Cross). Jenny passed away in 2013, however, the orchestra has continued to perform a varied repertoire of swing, classical, show tune, festive, popular and easy listening music from around the world. | The IFC International Folk Dance Camp will be held at Circle Lodge in Sylvan Lake, Hopewell Junction, New York, USA from May 10th to 12th, 2024. Six piece band “Balkan Fields” (picture above) will play live music at the event. Boston-based Balkan Fields has received accolades for their enthusiasm, musicianship, and harmony with careful attention to the needs of the IFC community. Maddelena Belfiore had such an enormous Massed Band (1000 accordionists!) in Nashville, Tennessee that she was hoisted up in a cherry picker to conduct the “Tennessee Waltz”, 1980.

I am creating an “ongoing” online article featuring photos from AAA events dating back to 1938. All events and all years are welcome! This article will be on the AAA website in the “Articles AAA History” section at https://www.ameraccord.com/articles.php It will be Article #43 and will hopefully grow regularly with all of your contributions! I have many boxes of photos and memorabilia from AAA achievements, events and competitions. It is important to me that this rich history of our now 86 year old organization will always be available to the public and accordion enthusiasts worldwide.
