| El Tag der Harmonica 2022 se celebrará en el Centro de la Ciudad de la Nueva Escuela Media en Perg, Alta Austria, del 16 al 19 de junio de 2022, organizado por la HVÖ Harmonikaverband Osterreichs (Asociación de Armonía de Austria). Este 29º concurso austriaco está dirigido a solistas de acordeón, dúos, conjuntos y orquestas que tocan una variedad de música de concierto, música ligera, música de cámara y música del mundo. El presidente de la HVÖ, Werner Weibert, se complace en anunciar dos nuevos puntos destacados para el Día de la Armónica 2022 1. La mayor orquesta de acordeones fundada por la HVÖ en 2020 actuará por primera vez en el marco de este día de la armónica. La orquesta austriaca es una iniciativa de los miembros de la junta directiva de la HVÖ, Christian Höller y Johannes Münzner, que han convocado a todos los acordeonistas de Austria a participar. 2. El vídeo comienza en 1:35 Programa en ruso e inglés en: 2022All-RussiaDayEl Día de toda Rusia del Bayán, el Acordeón y la Armónica se celebra cada año (el tercer sábado de marzo) en la Sala de Conciertos Gnesins RAM de Moscú. El evento es también la contribución de Rusia al Día Mundial del Acordeón (6 de mayo), ya que esa fecha coincide con una fiesta nacional rusa. Por este motivo, el Día Panruso del Bayán, el Acordeón y la Armónica se celebra anualmente en marzo. El Departamento de Bayan y Acordeón de la RAM de Gnesins estableció el evento siendo el director del proyecto Friedrich Lips. | El II Concurso Internacional "Heinrich Band" 2022 y la VIII Masterclass Internacional de Bandoneón se celebrarán en línea y en directo del 24 al 27 de agosto de 2022 en Iglesias, Italia. El evento está organizado por la Asociación Cultural Anton Stadler y la Accademia Italiana del Bandoneón, con la contribución de la Región Autónoma de Cerdeña RAS - Departamento de Educación, Patrimonio Cultural, Información, Entretenimiento y Deporte, el Municipio de Iglesias - Departamento de Cultura, Deporte y Entretenimiento, la Fundación de Cerdeña, el Ministerio de Cultura MIC y en colaboración con la Asociación Proyecto AR'TANGO-Bandoneón de Avignon. Se han abierto las solicitudes para la ronda preliminar del concurso "Heinrich Band" para la interpretación instrumental del bandoneón, y los participantes ya pueden enviar sus vídeos. Las solicitudes se cierran el 24 de junio de 2022. El jurado está compuesto por Per Arne Glorvigen (Noruega), Piero di Egidio (Italia), Yvonne Hahn (Alemania), Santiago Cimadevilla (Argentina) y Fabio Furia (Italia). Se elegirán tres finalistas del concurso que pasarán al concierto público final en vivo en Iglesias el 24 de agosto de 2022 con motivo de la VIII edición de la Masterclass Internacional de Bandoneón.   Thomas Hennig, Chairman of the Association for the Promotion of the International Accordion Competitions in Klingenthal e.V. has announced that the 59th International Accordion Competition Klingenthal 2022 has now been cancelled. The competition was due to be held online in May 2022. Organisers are now looking towards the 60th Competition in Klingenthal next year. |

| A virtual reunion over Zoom to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Frank Marocco’s passing was held on March 5. Forty-five Frank Marocco Accordion Event (FMAE) alumni and friends from the US, Canada and Italy participated in nearly 3½ hours of reminiscing and viewing videos together. A highlight of the reunion was the participation of Frank’s three daughters, Cynthia, Venetia and Lisa. Their heartwarming reactions can be summed up in a quote from an email I received from Cynthia following the reunion: “Thank you Dan so much for hosting this event . . . What a lovely community of accordion players were present. It meant so much to my sisters and myself." .....   Video: Concert series of the "Ensemble Via Nova" in the Kunsthalle Erfurt, Germany. Neza Torka and the Ensemble Via Nova gave a concert tour of Switzerland from March 31st to April 3rd, 2022. Beginning at the Kellertheater Brig on March 31st, the group’s program included 75th birthday celebrations for Max E. Keller (Swiss composer, jazz pianist and improvising musician) with works by Keller, Hoyer, Zapf, Frischknecht and Hildebrandt. Further concerts were given as follows: April 1st, at the Alter Stadthaussaal Winterthur with works by Keller, Hoyer, Zapf, Jean-Luc Darbellay and Hildebrandt. April 2nd at L ´ art pour l`Aar, French church Le Cap, Bern with works by Keller, Iranyi, Hoyer, Zapf, Hofer, Darbellay, Gut, Frischknecht, Wecks and Bovey. April 3rd at Maison 44, Steinenring 44, Basel with works by Keller, Iranyi, Gut, Hoyer, Langlotz and Hildebrandt. |

| The "Pipes and Reeds" concert featuring the South Hampshire Accordion Quintet was held on April 10th at the Thorngate Halls Ballroom in Gosport, England. Performers included Robert Stacey on the 1934 Compton theatre organ, playing popular classics and show tunes, followed by the accordion quintet playing the Glenn Miller story, Liberty Bell March, and Black and White Rag. |

| The 2022 Easter Music Seminar will be held from April 19th to 22nd, 2022 at the Federal Academy of Trossingen in Germany organised by the Akkordeonjugend Baden-Württemberg in the Deutschen Harmonika-Verband e. V. Young musicians aged from 10 to 26, who play accordion, harmonica, melodica, keyboard, piano or drums, will enjoy a program including orchestra playing, conducting, lectures and music production. Lecturers include Alexander Cargnelli (music educator), Jürgen Farkas (music educator), Sarah Hofheinz (representative of youth education) and Thomas Maier (musical instructor for percussion instruments). |

 “Los Lobos” will perform at The Fountain Stage at Regents Square Western New Mexico University in Silver City, New Mexico on April 23rd, 2022 at 6.30pm.The group includes David Hidalgo (accordion and multi instrumentalist), Louie Perez (drums, guitar & vocals), Steve Berlin (saxophone, melodica, flute, percussion), Cesar Rosas (vocals, guitar & mandolin) and Conrad Lozano (bass, guitar & vocals). The band has just won their 4th Grammy at the 64th Grammy Awards held on April 3rd this year for their album "Native Sons" in the "Best Americana Album" category. |
