World Accordion Day “Other Light” Workshops and Concerts – Netherlandsby Christine Johnstone |

| In 2022, accordionists Lieke op 't Roodt and Ilse Kok organized a concert to celebrate World Accordion Day (WAD). They liked it so much that they are going to do it again this year, 2024. Not once, but twice! The first concert will be held on April 13th, 2024, from 7.30pm in the Main Hall of the Irene Building in Apeldoorn, Netherlands and the second will take place on April 20th, 2024, from 7.30pm in the Hasselt Chapel in Tilburg, Netherlands. Their program will include accordion solo and duo pieces, Renaissance music arranged for accordion to a brand new composition for accordion duo written by accordionist Ilse Kok, which will premiere during these concerts. Lieke and Ilse have also entered into a collaboration with accordionist Ellen Zijm, who will lead two workshops on April 13th as follows: • Ensemble through the centuries (3pm) • Accordion for beginners (6pm) See World Accordion Day reports at: 2024WADreport |
