Tacheng is in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region of China, and to reach Tacheng, takes over 5 hours flying time from Hong Kong, Shanghai or Beijing and is close to the border of Kazakhstan. To put this in perspective, London to Moscow is 3 hours 40 minutes. The China Daily Times (English edition) wrote: "Dubbed as the "city of accordion", Tacheng has a rich history and legacy of accordion. The accordion is akin to a symbol of the city, and out of every 10 people there will be two or three who can play the accordion. |
