The first function of the 2023 Xin Jiang Tacheng Accordion Art Festival was the official opening ceremony of the newly established 'Self Drive' tour which showcases the diverse and beautiful tourist attractions in the area. 666 (the lucky number for Chinese) vehicles (motor bikes and cars) assembled to begin their journey at the conclusion of the ceremony. Visitors to the Tacheng Accordion Art Festival can now enjoy a Self Drive tour visiting the landscapes and attractions of the area in addition to the many festival activities.

The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony began the offfical beginning of the 2023 Tacheng Accordion Art Festival. CIA Officials including Kevin Friedrich (Ambassador), Li Cong (Vice President and President of the Chinese Accordion Association) and Harley Jones (CIA Public Relations Manager) were invited to join city officials to assist in the ribbon cutting.

The Tacheng Plaza was filled to capacity as the City of Tacheng hosted a multicultural food festival showcasing the diverse culinary delights of the many different ethnic groups found in the region. From the 550 kg roasted camel to an incredible array of sweet treats, guests and Tacheng residents and visitors were on hand to sample the offerings.

|
Tacheng has built this incredible new building for the Tacheng Accordion Museum. Encompassing this entire building, the accordion exhibits currently occupies much of the lower level and will be expanded to upper levels as the collection continues to grow. The building also houses a Concert Hall, an Amphitheatre in the spectacular foyer area, meeting facilities and lecture/seminar rooms, while the upcoming expansion will include the establishment of an accordion making workshop display and music/resource libraries.
