 Vidéo: La vidéo commence à 3:10 'Rencontrez la famille' des instruments du Musée A World of Accordions par Kevin Friedrich, assisté de Jane Christison.Le musée A World of Accordions a célébré sa Journée mondiale annuelle de l'accordéon et Dr. Festival Willard Palmer à Superior dans le Wisconsin du 6 au 8 mai 2022. Avec ses concerts, ses conférences, son orchestre du festival, ses deux bals de polka et autres animations, le festival a été un énorme succès, attirant à la fois un public sur place et en ligne. Parmi les invités vedettes figuraient le maire de Superior, Jim Paine, le président du musée et conservateur Helmi Harrington, Ph.D. D., (photo de droite) Dr. Mike Middleton (en solo et avec les Middletones), Kevin Friedrich, ambassadeur de la CIA et vice-président du musée, Dee Langley (en solo et avec le Masked Accordion Ensemble), Joanna Arnold Darrow, Jazzlynne Skye, John Scaffeo, Mary Kay et Katherine Archuletta, William Popp , Accordion Concertina Music and Friends Accordion Band dirigé par Tracey Gibbens, Hostfest Ensemble et Dr. Craig Funderberg. Les visiteurs de la Journée mondiale de l'accordéon et des Palmer Fests ont eu droit à une série d'activités mettant en valeur la diversité de l'accordéon, une présentation de la vaste donation de la collection Alain Papineau, ainsi que des visites guidées du Musée présentant plus de 1 400 instruments retraçant l'évolution de l'accordéon de 1829 à nos jours.  Cette année, pour la 14e fois, l'Association macédonienne des accordéonistes (MAA) "Ljubiteli na klasichna muzika" - Skopje a soutenu le projet international de la CIA "Journée mondiale de l'accordéon du 6 mai (WAD)" avec divers temps musicaux passionnants.Photo de droite : Bete Ilin, Zorica et Anica Karakutovska. L'association a organisé un concert solennel pour célébrer l'événement international et la l'anniversaire de l'instrument. Le concert WAD a eu lieu le 7 mai dans la salle de la Philharmonie de Skopje, dans une ambiance intimiste. Le nouveau bâtiment de la Philharmonie offre un lieu de grande qualité que les artistes ont pleinement utilisé. L'hôte de l'événement était le célèbre présentateur de télévision macédonien Ognen Janeski. Le concert de gala WAD est devenu ces dernières années un événement culturel et artistique important et prestigieux dans le pays et aussi à l'étranger, grâce à la diffusion du concert dans le monde entier par une chaîne de télévision nationale. Cette année, le concert sera diffusé à la télévision dans le cadre de la célébration de la fête nationale du 24 mai, Ss. Cyrille et Méthode. Le concert mettait en vedette des artistes renommés et des étudiants en accordéon de la classe du Prof. Zorica Karakutovska interprétant des œuvres de Viatcheslav Semionov, Vladimir Zubitsky, Bete Ilin, Piazzolla, Mozart etc. La célèbre pianiste macédonienne Marija Gjoshevska a accompagné l'accordéoniste Filip Petreski dans l'étonnante interprétation de la composition Rossiniana de Vladimir Zubitsky. Filip, en tant que l'un des meilleurs jeunes accordéonistes, a donné un concert dans la salle de chambre de la Philharmonie le 16 mai. Le concert était organisé par la Philharmonie. Lors du concert de cette année, l'invité spécial Mirco Patarini (Italie) a interprété la première de la composition "Dafino" du célèbre compositeur macédonien Bete Ilin. La composition a été spécialement composée pour cette occasion et est dédiée au président de la CIA Mirco Patarini et à la promotion de la journée mondiale de l’accordéon, le WAD. La salle était occupée par un public très enthousiaste qui a réagi avec ferveur et a eu des applaudissements fournis pour les musiciens. Leur réaction à l'interprétation de la composition "Dafino" a été formidable avec des retours très positifs après le concert. Monsieur le Président a très bien fait son travail !  Veli Kujala (Finlande) est l'accordéoniste qui joue dans "Hamlet" au Metropolitan Opera, dans une adaptation de la pièce classique de Brett Dean (Australie) et de Matthew Jocelyn – adaptation à la fois traditionnelle et innovante, élégante et passionnée.Les premières critiques ont été publiées et l'accordéon est mentionné par le New York Times. Pour évoquer le meurtre de son père il est mentionné sur Opera Wire : « Il y a des passages expérimentaux telle la séquence où l'accordéon est leader et à certain moment joue seul». L'opéra est donné au Metropolitan Opera House, Lincoln Center, Upper West Side de Manhattan, New York. Les prochaines représentations auront lieu les 21, 26 et 31 mai , 4 et 9 juin 2022 avec la représentation du 4 juin rediffusée en direct sur les cinémas Metropolitan HD du monde entier |

| La 2e Baidi Cup en ligne se tiendra à nouveau en ligne, organisée par la Tianjin Baidi Culture and Art Co., Ltd et le Comité professionnel de l'accordéon de l'Association de musique de Tianjin. Le concours vise à promouvoir la culture de l'accordéon, à enrichir la vie artistique des amateurs d'accordéon, à favoriser les échanges et les interactions dans le domaine de l'accordéon entre la Chine et le monde et à donner aux jeunes l'opportunité de se produire en offrant une scène aux accordéonistes.  Vidéo : "Las Fenix" interprétant "Un Traguito de Tequila".Le 33ème Annuel Accordion Kings & Queens se tiendra au Miller Outdoor Theatre à Houston, Texas, USA le 4 juin 2022 à 19h, sous l’égide de Texas Folklife. L'événement se tiendra en direct en personne et en direct et mettra en vedette "Las Fenix", "RJ & Creole Smoove", "Cameron Dupuy & the Cajun Troubadours" ainsi que les champions Big Squeeze 2022 - gagnants du Texas Folklife's Big Squeeze 2022 concours d'accordéon pour les jeunes dans les catégories de genre Polka, Cajun, Zydeco et Conjunto (voir photo ci-dessous).  Composers from around the world are invited to take part in a new competition entitled “Wolfgang Jacobi Composition Prize”, which has been organised by the Deutscher Harmonika Verband (DHV) in cooperation with the Deutscher Akkordeonlehrer-Verband (DALV).The aim of the competition is to encourage composers of accordion works, to deal with Jacobi's compositional technique and to take up a theme or fragment of Jacobi's composition. The competition prize is supported by the descendants of Wolfgang Jacobi, Hohner Musikinstrumente GmbH and Jetelina.de. The jury will consist of composers and accordion professionals and is chaired by composer Prof. Moritz Eggert (picture right), from the Hochschule für Musik and Theater München. Registration deadline is October 1st, 2022.  The National Accordion Competition Dobrany, organized by the Dobrany Accordion School in cooperation with the J. S. Bach Elementary Art School will be held at the J. S. Bach Dobrany Art School in Dobrany, Czech Republic from June 10th to 12th, 2022.The competition for accordionists from the Czech Republic will include categories for soloists and chamber ensembles such as Junior Classic, Senior Classic, Masters, Junior Chamber Music, Senior Chamber Music, World Music, Junior Variety and Senior Variety. Each competitor will receive a diploma with special prizes as follows: • Selected laureates will be offered a performance at the Bechovická Harmonika Festival • Contestants with the highest points will be selected to represent the Czech Republic at the Trophée Mondiale 2022 World Accordion Competition • Selected accordionists will be invited to perform at the opening concert of the 2023 National Accordion Competition Dobrany • Special prize for the youngest participant of the competition For details email: vacepe@seznam.cz |

 The 2022 Che Bandoneon International Competition will be held in Stowe, Vermont, USA from August 14th to 21st, 2022 as a part of the 2022 Stowe Tango Music Festival. Che Bandoneon competition finalists are: Leonel Gasso (Uruguay) Alex Roitman (USA) Sinai Rim (South Korea) Heyni Solera (USA) The Competition is open to bandoneon players of all nationalities who must be at least 18 years of age by August 1st, 2022. Events timeline: • August 8th: Tango Academy and Bandoneon Workshop (All finalists will receive full Scholarship to the workshop) • August 14th: Finalists join 2022 Stowe Tango Music Festival • August 21st: Finals and Award Ceremony.  On May 11th, 2022, Duo Aliada performed J.S.Bach’s Goldberg Variations at the Casino Baumgarten in Vienna, Austria.The aim of the duo Aliada is to juxtapose two neglected classical instruments such as the accordion and the saxophone in a duo formation and to use the "almost infinite possibilities in terms of timbre and dynamic range". Bogdan Laketic (Serbia) and Michal Knot (Poland) won 1st prize at the Fidelio competition in Vienna in 2013, which was the start of their international career with international festival performances and CD recordings. The "Goldberg Variations" belong to J.S. Bach's most important large-scale works for a keyboard instrument. The theme, which artistically undergoes 30 modifications, is an "Aria" in triple time of the Sarabande, which already appears in Anna Magdalena Bach's music book from 1725. In the arrangement for accordion and saxophone, the Aliada duo, aware of Bach's affinity for arranging his own works, continue this tradition while shedding a new light on this masterpiece by presenting the "Goldberg Variations" with a dimension of timbre and expressiveness, which can only be achieved with saxophone and accordion. |

  This week Gorka Hermosa premiered his latest two compositions in Barcelona, Spain - "Children Suite No 3" and a "curious score" entitled "4 bars".Gorka was challenged by the photographer Blas González to write a four-bar composition on a photo that he sent. His project was to send this same challenge to different well-known composers and publish a book for the benefit of “Musicians Without Borders” with each score and photo. In the project there were composers such as well known and internationally renowned as Evelyn Glennie (UK), Octavio Vazquez (USA), Fernando Buide, Gabriel Erkoreka, Teresa Catalán, Jesus Torres, Rosa Torres-Pardo, David del Puerto, Alfredo Aracil, Jean -Denis Michat (France), Ulrike Haage (Germany) and Left Segerstam (Finland).. In addition Gorka held a successful masterclass at the Conservatory in Barcelona on May 16th. |

 Marcus Rompf, an accordion craftsman was just 55 years old when he passed away from a long term illness last week in Castelfidardo, Italy.Marcus arrived in Italy many years ago (from Germany) and worked as a specialized accordion technician in Castelfidardo before starting up his own business manufacturing machined parts for accordions factories. He leaves behind his fiancée (as he was due to be married this year) and six children. His funeral was held on May 16th, 2022 in the Sant'Agostino Church in Castelfidardo. |

Performers are the Duo Magdalena Kulig (mezzo soprano) & Maciej Zimka (accordion) who are “a surprising and energetic collusion of two charismatic musical personalities who, collaborating in 2019, perform innovative song arrangements and aria in voice and accordion”. | The Handharmonika-Club 1932 Ditzingen e.V. will hold a concert to celebrate their 90th Anniversary at the Church of Constance in Ditzingen, Germany on May 22nd, 2022 at 4pm. This concert will include a performance by the 1st Orchestra conducted by Vitali Neifert and the Quintet led by Martin Spieß. Attendees can look forward to a program of Bach and Dvorák works, music from the operetta "The Beautiful Galathée" (by Franz von Suppè) and "Concerto d'Amore" by Jacob de Haan among others. | Davide Vendramin (bandoneon) will perform in a concert entitled “Tango Forever” at the National Palace of Culture in Sofia, Bulgaria on May 28th, 2022 at 7pm. He will be joined by Ina Kancheva (soprano), Bulent Bezduz (tenor), Sesim Bezdyuz (violin), Kalina Hristova (violin), Kristiana Alipieva (cello) and Doach Bezdyuz (piano). The festival is held under the patronage of the President of Republic of Bulgaria Mr. Rumen Radev and is part of the Calendar of Cultural Events of Sofia Municipality for 2022.   The Australian Accordion Teachers Association Inc. (AATA) has announced their 2022 Australian International Accordion Video project entitled “Bringing the World Together Through the Accordion”.President of the AATA, Tatjana Marx (picture above) says the video project will give accordionists of all ages, all levels and all nations the opportunity to submit a video to be compiled together as a showcase of how when we work together, all differences can be put aside! This event is open to accordionist soloists, duets, trios and ensembles as well as groups that feature the accordion. The final edited video of performances will be released online in early June 2022. The Australian Accordion Teachers Association has decided to postpone their annual international competition for 2022, and instead create a platform for accordionists from all over the world to come together in celebration of our favourite instrument. Entries close on May 30th, 2022 and videos must be submitted by June 3rd, 2022. For further details visit the AATA website. |
