Accordionist Hans-Gunther Kolz and saxophonist Matthias Anton perform a ‘Tribute to Michel Petrucciani’ concert, dedicated to the late French jazz pianist, on March 16th, 8.15pm, at the Linde Restaurant & Hotel, Luitpoldstrasse 31Otterstadt, Rhineland, Germany. Michel Petrucciani (1962-1999) from birth had osteogenesis imperfecta, a genetic disease that causes brittle bones and, in his case, short stature, yet he became one of the most accomplished jazz pianists of his generation despite having arms which caused him pain. Hand-Günther Kölz, born in 1956 in Stuttgart, Germany, was taught by his father (accordion) and his mother (piano). From 1976-1980 he studied at the Hohner Konservatorium in Trossingen under Hubert Deuringer, Karls Perenthaler, Brent McCall, and Fritz Dobler. Since 1981 Hans Günther Kölz has worked as an academic at the Hohner Konservatorium and sometimes as a guest at several foreign universities. He also he works as a composer, music teacher, performer and arranger. |
