| La convention de la National Accordion Association (NAA) se tiendra du 15 au 19 mars 2023 à l'hôtel Hilton à Richardson auTexas aux USA. La convention présentera des versions 2023 de la musique américaine commercialisables en tant que musique d'aujourd'hui. Cela sera une combinaison de musique américaine contemporaine créée par des immigrants américains qui mêmé leurs valeurs et traditions musicales au genre américain. Un mélange de styles musicaux qui incluent, entre autres, des airs populaires, de la musique folklorique, de la musique country et western (C&W), des ballades à texte, du rock and roll, des polkas et des valses, de la musique européenne, du gospel et du jazz. En outre, la convention 2023 offrira des propositions de formation autour des thèmes pensée créative et musique, travail de l'oreille, contrôle de l'articulation et du soufflet, technique pratique, lecture à vue, théorie musicale, techniques d'interprétation et mise en situation de concert. | Le 51e concours Kleine Tag der Harmonika se tiendra à Klingenthal, en Allemagne, les 4 et 5 mars 2023. Les compétitions sont réservées aux jeunes accordéonistes de 19 ans et moins, originaires de toute la République Fédérale d'Allemagne et de la République Tchèque. Ils sont invités à se rencontrer et montrer leurs compétences dans le cadre d'une compétition loyale qui les rodent aux concours. Les catégories de compétition comprennent des catégories d'âge pour les solistes, les duos et les ensembles de musique de chambre comprenant jusqu'à cinq musiciens dont au moins un accordéon. Les inscriptions se clôturent le 15 janvier 2023. | Le bandonéoniste argentin Rodolfo Mederos donnera un concert de tango en direct et une conférence à la résidence de l'ambassadeur argentin à Londres, Angleterre, Royaume-Uni le 11 décembre 2022 à 16h. C'est une excellente occasion de profiter de l'un des musiciens les plus connus de la scène tango argentine. L'événement est organisé par l'Ambassade d'Argentine au Royaume-Uni en collaboration avec la Société anglo-argentine et l'équipe du London Tango Marathon. La conférence sera en espagnol avec des interprétations musicales, suivie d'une Milonga de Noël. Les fonds récoltés iront à Programa Puentes, Fondation Delfina. |

 The Lighthouse Function Center in Dargaville, New Zealand was filled to capacity for the 17th Afternoon of Music with Kevin Friedrich and Friends, a Variety Show featuring accordionists and entertainers from different parts of New Zealand. Report at: 2022DargavilleAccordionist Kevin Friedrich hosted his popular fundraising concert called ‘Christmas Joy’, on December 4th, 2022 at 1:00 PM. Presented by The Dargaville Museum, the 17th Afternoon of Music with Kevin Friedrich and Friends featured a variety of traditional and lighter themed Holiday music. Guest artists included the North Shore Accordion Orchestra, Anna Collins, Paul Jonson, Lionel Reekie, Jone Yelcich, Take 6, Linda Emmett Litt, Thomas Koloi, Rivertown Singers, Roslyn Gilmour, Alanah Jones, Maurice Jones, The Kaipara Ensemble, Sonja Whitehouse, Ian Bartlett and Jean Reid. The popular annual Holiday Show Concerts, which have been added to the annual regular season concerts, are a wonderful event for all ages, bringing the community and guests together for an afternoon of music and friendship. All proceeds are donated to the Dargaville Museum in support of their efforts to showcase the history of the community for future generations to enjoy. The Dargaville Museum hosts the only public accordion exhibition in the Southern Hemisphere “Accordion Gems, A Master Collection of Accordions Through Time”. Established and curated by Kevin Friedrich, the 140 instruments on display showcase the fascinating evolution of the instrument over its nearly 200 years. Report at: 2022Dargaville |

 Picture above from left: Li Cong (2nd place), Krešimir Lulic (winner) and on the right, Vladimir Stupnikov (3rd place).The winner of the XXIX “Arrasate Hiria” International Accordion Competition held in Arrasate-Mondragón, Basque Country, Spain is Krešimir Lulic (Croatia). He will be invited by the organizers to give a series of concerts at the 2023 XXX “Arrasate Hiria” International Accordion Competition. The event was held from December 2nd to 4th, 2022, organised by “Hauspoz” Euskal Herriko Akordeoi Elkartea, the Town Hall of Arrasate and the County Council of Gipuzkoa. The international jury, which included Veli Kujala (Finland), Geir Draugsvoll (Norway), Ander Telleria (Spain), Mie Miki (Japan/Germany), announced only twenty hundredths separated the first and third placings. | Black Pencil, which includes accordionist Marko Kassl will perform a concert at the Kunstlinie Kleine Zaal (Small Hall) in Almere, Netherlands on December 15th, 2022 at 8.30pm. The concert, entitled A-A-Almere, will include music written by Almere composers and dedicated to special Almere places with colorful classical music, live video and electronics. Special guest is Brazilian dancer and choreographer, Samir Calixto. The programme will also include music by Calliope Tsoupaki, Arnoud Zelf, Come Out Caioni, Thomas Morley, John Cage, Alfred Momotenko as well as a preview of Black Pencil’s upcoming project “La Noche Eterna” which will premiere on February 16th, 2023 at theatres in Zwolle, Netherlands. | “Get Back Unplugged” will perform a concert of The Beatles music at a Milton St House Concert in Nanaimo, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, on January 7th, 2023, hosted by Harbour City Concerts. The group “Get Back Unplugged” started as an idea of Vancouver-based folk-pop trio The Wahs after seeing the recent Peter Jackson-produced documentary about the famous Get Back recording sessions and the celebrated Beatles rooftop concert. The band includes Allan Dionne (accordion & vocals), Cam Wilson (violin & vocals), Andy Hillhouse (guitar & vocals), Brent Gubbels (bass & vocals), LJ Mounteney (vocals) and Dave Gibbons (guitar & vocals). |

Cet atelier permettra aux participants de développer leur technique instrumentale avec la Méthode Jacques Mornet.  The latest updated and expanded article was originally published in 2004 as part of my annual series discussing AAA music commissions carried out by Elsie Bennet, beginning in 1957 with Paul Creston’s Prelude and Dance. It examines the fifteenth and sixteenth commissions, Aria, Scherzo, and Finale, for accordion and orchestra (1961), by Louis B. Gordon, and Night Music, for accordion and string quartet (1964), by David Diamond. The updated webpage article provides deeper analytical information than the original print version, greatly aided by the new addition of musical examples. This aural feature will continue to be employed in future updated articles where no recording is available. |
