- God Save the King

New Zealand is unique for having two National Anthems of equal standing - God Defend New Zealand and God Save The King. While Canada has a National Anthem and a Royal Anthem, the only other country to have two officially recognized National Anthems of equal standing like New Zealand, is Denmark. Both Anthems are always sung at this concert series.

Each year, to bring a lighthearted item to the Concerts, duo team Kevin Friedrich and Lionel Reekie perform a skit. This year's entertainment centered around a comical rendition of All I want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth. Much to the delight of the auience, Lionel costumed as a baby expressing his wishes for two front teeth from Santa.

left: Lionel attempting a task that was only possible with two front teeth, a 'whistle'
rigth: Much to the hilarity of the audience, in the absence of him getting two front teeth, a set of false teeth were offered by
an audience member as part of the skit.

left: as part of the skit, Concert organizer Margaret Tier reprimanded Lionel for
causing a scene at her concert, to which (right) Lionel reacted accordingly.
