 La Asociación Sueca de Acordeonistas (SDR) organizó (por primera vez) el Congreso de Invierno de la Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes (CIA) en Kungsbacka, Suecia, del 23 al 25 de febrero de 2024.Kungsbacka se encuentra en la costa oeste del sur de Suecia, a 20 kilómetros al sur de Gotemburgo. La 151ª Asamblea General tuvo lugar en el Hotel Halland. Treinta y siete oficiales de la CIA y delegados de 17 países estuvieron presentes para participar en un fin de semana muy agitado con reuniones, conciertos y tertulias. El alcalde de Castelfidardo, Roberto Ascani, estuvo presente en Kungsbacka para firmar el contrato, también aprobado por el Congreso de la CIA, para la celebración de la 77ª Coupe Mondiale que se alojamiento en Castelfidardo, Italia, del 6 al 10 de septiembre de 2024. Por primera vez en la historia, la CIA organizará la Coupe Mondiale en la ciudad de los productores de acordeón. El Congreso también aprobó la 79.ª Coupe Mondiale que se celebrará en Estocolmo, Suecia, en agosto de 2026. La Asociación Sueca de Acordeonistas (SDR) organizó un concierto en el Teatro Kungsbacka el sábado por la noche, con actuaciones de varios acordeonistas suecos destacados como Minna Weurlander y Deseo String Quartet, Malmö Accordion Quartet, Leo Florin y la Lars Karlsson Band. Djordje Peric (Bosnia y Herzegovina) también apareció como artista invitado sorpresa. El evento está organizado por la Associazione Promozione Arte: Gerlando Gatto (director artístico), Renzo Ruggieri (presidente de la APA), Giuseppe Di Falco (secretario) y Andrea Di Giacomo (secretario).Guy Klucevsek (EE.UU. - imagen a la derecha) recibirá el 15.º premio italiano Orpheus Lifetime Achievement Award 2024 el 5 de marzo de 2024 a las 19:00 horas. Este premio es un reconocimiento internacional a su importante contribución al acordeón y sus composiciones para acordeón durante su larga carrera. | El fin de semana del curso taller 2024 se llevará a cabo en St-Michielsgestel, Países Bajos, del 12 al 13 de abril de 2024. El evento, que incluirá 11 talleres diferentes durante el día, así como bailes folclóricos nocturnos, conciertos y sesiones improvisadas, está organizado por Stichting Draailier y Doedelzak. Riccardo Tesi (Italia) impartirá un taller de acordeón diatónico para instrumentos G-C. El taller abarcará el aprendizaje de piezas de tradición italiana y composiciones originales, problemas tanto de carácter técnico (uso del fuelle, técnica lineal y cruzada, digitación, coordinación, etc.) como de carácter interpretativo (ornamentación, expresión, staccato y legato, etc.). Guus Herremans (Bélgica) impartirá un taller de interpretación en conjunto de todos los instrumentos destinado a intérpretes avanzados. Además de tocar en conjunto, Guus cubrirá la armonía y el desarrollo individual en los que la diversión es primordial. |

| El Festival Internacional de Acordeón Akkordeonale 2024 se llevará a cabo en varios lugares de Alemania durante abril de 2024, organizado por Servais Haanen. El evento contará con “músicos de una amplia variedad de países para crear una mezcla sorprendente de conjuntos de todos los estilos”. El festival internacional del acordeón comienza el 3 de abril y durante los próximos 34 días se presentarán 33 conciertos. Los intérpretes incluyen a Irene Tillung (Noruega), Djordje Davidovic (Serbia), Marcello Squillante (Italia), Paul Schuberth (Austria) y Servais Haanen (Alemania/Países Bajos).  ¿Qué estás haciendo para el Día Mundial del Acordeón (World Accordion Day) para promover el acordeón en tu país? El día mundial del acordeón es el 6 de mayo, que es el día en que se patentó el acordeón en 1829.El Día Mundial del Acordeón fue iniciado en el 2009 por la CIA y ha tenido mucho éxito, generando mucha publicidad positiva para el acordeón. Una parte clave de este evento es el sitio web del Día Mundial del Acordeón. A cada asociación, grupo, orquesta, intérprete y maestro, se le pide que apoye activamente este evento alentando que se realicen este día actividades de acordeón nacional y local en su país o el fin de semana a ambos lados del Día del Acordeón, si eso fuera más conveniente. Todos pueden registrar su actividad del Día Mundial del Acordeón en el sitio web y luego enviar un informe de su evento para ese sitio web. Ningún evento es demasiado grande o demasiado pequeño. TODOS los eventos de acordeón que celebran el Día Mundial del Acordeón (World Accordion Day) son bienvenidos.  El año pasado, el Gremio Internacional de Acordeonistas y Maestros (ATG) comenzó a trabajar en la creación de un documental profesional protagonizado por el Museo Un Mundo de Acordeones y el curador del museo desde sus inicios, el Dr. Helmi Harrington.El documental ha sido filmado y se encuentra en las etapas finales de producción. Está dirigida por uno de sus propios miembros, Nikola Stojkovic, productor de cine y escritor, y fue filmada por Mobula Productions. El documental cuenta la historia del trabajo de Helmi Harrington durante muchas décadas y cuenta la historia del acordeón a través de la colección histórica de instrumentos del museo. | Applications for the 17th Premio Andrea Parodi World Music Contest for artists from all over the world are now open and will close on May 9th, 2024. The competition finals will be held in Cagliari, Sardinia in Autumn, 2024. The event was created in honour of the distinguished Sardinian artist Andrea Parodi, who passed away in 2006, and is organized by the homonymous Foundation Artistic Director, Elena Ledda. Ten finalists will perform in Cagliari at the "Premio Andrea Parodi" Festival 2024, in front of a Jury composed of authoritative industry professionals (singers, musicians, writers and songwriters, poets, managers, producers, press offices, journalists), from international countries. The prize for the winner includes promotional concerts and performances in some of the partner music festivals in their 2025 editions, such as European Jazz Expo (Sardinia), Folkest (Friuli), and the Premio Andrea Parodi 2025. Some finalists will also be invited to other Partner Festivals, such as Mare e Miniere, Premio Bianca d’Aponte, Mo'l'estate Spirit Festival and Festival del Torto. Registration is free.  The 3rd annual Youth Concerto Festival 2024 will be held at the AfriForum Teater in Greenlyn Village-sentrum H.v., Menlo Park, Pretoria, South Africa on March 3rd, 2024.The event will feature a performance by the Pretoria Symphony Orchestra conducted by Jaco van Staden with accordion soloist Loren Ehlers. The previous day (March 2nd) Loren Ehlers will give a concert at the Pierneefteater Performing Arts Theatre in Pretoria at 7pm. His program at this event will include works by Scarlatti, Paganini, Scarabin, Bach, Diero, Tiersen and Olczak. See posters for details. |

| Guardia Nueva, conducted by Raimo Vertainen, will perform at the Janakkala Music Days 2024 with Jarkko Ahola (vocals) on March 8th, 2024 at 7pm. The event will be held at the Janakkalan Liikuntahalli (Janakkalan Sports Hall) in Turenki, Finland. “Guardia Nueva is a large entertainment and tango orchestra full of roaring power and immense sensitivity. The musical backbone of the orchestra has been emotional tango and entertainment music.” |

| Louise Jallu (bandoneon) will perform at Maison De La Radio et De La Musique - Studio 104 (picture below) in Paris, France on March 9th, 2024 from 7pm. Louise will play a new jazz repertoire of pieces from Ravel to Brassens with Mathias Lévy (violin), Karsten Hochapfel (guitar), Grégoire Letouvet (piano), Alexandre Perrot (double bass) and Ariel Tessier (drums). The concert will be broadcast live on France Musique, radio station. |

| Archie Churchill-Moss will hold melodeon workshops at the Halsway Manor National Centre for Folk Arts in Crowcombe, Somerset, England on March 25th, 2024. The first workshop entitled “Getting Started” will be held from 10.30am to 1pm. This workshop is for players of the DG melodeon, levels 0 and 1 and will cover learning new tunes and techniques, while also developing a working knowledge of music theory. Attendees will be given time for individual help to support less confident players. The second workshop entitled “Getting Better” will be held from 2pm to 4.30pm and is aimed at levels 2, 3 & 4. This workshop aims to support and develop the skills of Improver and Intermediate level melodeon players in enjoyable workshop sessions. Attendees will be learning new tunes and techniques. | Australian accordionist John MacDonald will perform at the Richard Bonynge Concert Hall, Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre in Penrith, Sydney, Australia on March 27th, 2024. John MacDonald was New Zealand born and made a New Zealand Accordion Association (NZAA) Life Member in 1993, honouring his long career of music making mainly in Australia but also for decades on ships cruises. The concert entitled 2024 Morning Melodies “The Main Event” will include a variety of entertainers in addition to John, such as Grace Rizzo, Stephen Fisher-King and the Greg Hooper trio. |

| Miran Vaupotic will give an accordion workshop for soloists and chamber ensembles at the Elly Bašic Music School in Zagreb, Croatia on April 19th and 20th, 2024. “This is a unique opportunity to work with a conductor of international career who also graduated in accordion.” The workshop takes place through classes with participants, and is intended for accordion players of all ages with the participation of teachers and all interested parties. Rheinland-Palatinate will hold a course "Prophylaxis and First Aid on Accordion" at the Clubhouse of the Harmonika Spielring Frankenthal in Frankenthal, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany on April 21st, 2024. El objetivo de TeachTalk es enriquecer nuestras habilidades de enseñanza de acordeón en línea al discutir con nuestros compañeros de acordeón nuestros éxitos y frustraciones al enseñar lecciones de acordeón en línea. Posibles temas de discusión: Tecnología: Zoom-Skype-Facetime, problemas de audio, dominio tecnológico Materiales: partituras, videos, audio, notas, compartir con sus alumnos.
