Australian Accordionist Celebrates in Style Contributed by Lyn Conlon Australian Accordion Champion Bernadette Conlon celebrated her 21st birthday in style recently on the Yarra River in Melbourne. Hiring a charter boat for four hours revelers wined and dined the night away to the sounds of the accordion. The party included 10 accordionists, several pianists and vocalists, many of whom performed items from comedy acts to accordion recitals. Among the highlights were items by Pavel Sluka, Leo Rosner (from ‘Schindlers List’ fame), Jeannette Morrish, well known Piaf impersonator Robyn Pitt Owen (Sydney), Arnold Roe, and Tracey Harvey, television's funny girl. Guests travelled from Sweden, USA, and New Zealand as well as from various parts of Australia. |
