Ghenadie Rotari Performs with Ensemble MusikFabrik - Germanyby Christine Johnstone |
Accordionist Ghenadie Rotari (picture left) will perform in concert with an instrumental group dedicated to the performance and promotion of contemporary music “Ensemble MusikFabrik” (picture below) at the "Festival Now! Transit" event held at the Philharmonie Essen (pictured above) on October 31st from 7.30pm. Their program will include the premier of a work entitled "Nether" (by Rebecca Saunders) for soprano and ensemble (19 instruments) with texts from the last chapter of "Ulysses" by James Joyce, the monologue of Molly Bloom. The work is also a core part of the one-hour long work for soprano and spatialized ensemble called "Yes", which was premiered in September 2017 at the Berliner Philharmonie by Ensemble Musikfabrik. Their program will also include "Schweres Tragend" (by Stefan Winkler) which is a "pocket" opera for 2 singers, a narrator, five instruments and electronics. This concert program will be repeated on November 3rd at the WDR Cologne (West-German Radio Station in Cologne) as part of the "Musikfabrik in WDR" concert series.
