  ¡La Confédération Internationale des Accordénistes (CIA) 67ª Copa Mundial de Acordeón lista para despegar! Patrocinado por Harmonikaverband Österreichs (HVÖ) desde el 27 de octubre al 2 de noviembre de 2014.La bonita ciudad de Salzburgo nos recibirá con los brazos abiertos, así como el presidente de la CIA Raymond Bodell (izda.) y el presidente de la HVÖ Werner Weibert (dcha.) te ofrecen su invitación más efusiva y afectiva. Como viene siendo habitual la competición contará con el más alto nivel en sus competiciones y en sus conciertos. Contaremos en esta ocasión con cerca de 190 participantes de 28 países diferentes. El evento lo puedes ver online en el conocido canal Deschamps, y como sabes en ocasiones hasta tres competiciones se desarrollarán a la vez. El sábado por la tarde se celebrará el concierto final, el cual incluye la World Accordion Orchestra VIII y a los triunfadores de las diferentes categorías.  Probablemente el primer Festival Nacional de Acordeón destinado a personas mayores, fue celebrado en Qingdao, la gran ciudad China. De toda China acudieron acordeonistas para celebrar este evento único en el mundo. La música interpretada en este festival, como es razonable comprender no es de la dificultad que se suele ver en las competiciones para jóvenes. Música patriótica, melodías y canciones populares antiguas, etc. El Festival hizo especial énfasis en el carácter folklórico y popular de las músicas que allí se interpretarían. Podemos decir en general que se disfrutó de un amable y feliz ambiente, entre bromas, comentarios y recuerdos nostálgicos de melodías en ocasiones ya olvidadas. Además debemos destacar la variedad de formaciones que allí vimos (orquestas folk, vocal solo, coros y danzas...) todas asociadas de alguna manera al acordeón.  Sean Montgomery, Roland Europa V-Accordion Product Manager (imagen de la derecha) escribe: "Roland se complace en anunciar una significativa 'Versión 2' actualización del sistema para su buque insignia FR-8X V-Accordion. Esta actualización, instalable por el usuario, añade nuevas mejoras diseñadas para hacer el FR-8X aún más versátil en cualquier situación musical. Basado en comentarios de los usuarios, las nuevas características incluyen nuevo set de percusión y parámetros orquestales, un mejor control de los archivos de audio, más funcionalidad de sus Loops y nuevas capacidades de “voicing”. La actualización de la versión 2 se lanzará oficialmente por Uwe Steger en un taller dedicado el sábado 1 de noviembre, como parte de la 67 Coupe Mondiale en Salzburgo, Austria.  El Akkordeonorchester Hof (Orquesta de Acordeón Hof) presentó su 30º Concierto Aniversario ante una representativa audiencia en la recientemente reformada Freiheitshalle en Hof, Alemania, el Domingo, 19 de octubre de 2014. La celebración presentada por la Hofer Symphoniker Musikschule contó con los conjuntos de acordeón de la escuela de música incluyendo el Akkordeonorchester Hof bajo la dirección de Torsten Petzold (foto izquierda), el Schülerakkordeonorchester (Orquesta de Acordeón de la Juventud), dirigida por Florian Weichert, la Hobbyakkordeonisten ( Hobby Acordeón Orquesta) dirigida por Bernd Rosenberger y la Orquesta de Acordeón Jubileo, donde se invitó a los ex miembros del grupo para unirse a los miembros actuales para una actuación dirigida por Torsten Petzold. Fundada en 1984, además de actuar en toda Europa y en su ciudad natal de Hof, la orquesta ha viajado por el mundo en numerosas giras de conciertos internacionales, incluyendo a África del Sur, Japón, China, Isla Reunión, Australia, Nueva Zelanda, Fiji y múltiples viajes a los EE.UU. Bajo la dirección de Torsten Petzold, la orquesta logró recientemente el 5º lugar en la competición del Festival Internacional Mundial de Música Orquestal de Acordeón en Innsbruck, Austria. | El conocido maestro chino Prof. Chen Yiming, de la Universidad de Shan Dong, en la ciudad de Jinan ha escrito un poema sobre “el sueño acordeonístico chino” y el desarrollo del acordeón en China. El poema fue recitado primero públicamente en el Festival Nacional de Acordeón de Qingdao para la Tercera Edad en la apertura del concierto del 18 de octubre de 2014.  Picture above: Grayson Masefield, Frederic Deschamps and Guillaume Fric.In Onet le Chateau, Rodez, France, Guillaume Fric has organized exceptional days of international accordion music. Attendees are from China, Chile, New Zealand, Russia and France. Daily Master classes with Frederic Deschamps have been given in the prestigious venue La Baleine. On the Monday evening, an arrival dinner of regional food was hosted by organizer Guillaume Fric. On Tuesday evening a Bal Musette, was held in the hotel, with many students in the Master Classes taking turns to perform, whilst others learnt the dances of the area. The culmination of the 4 days work is the Thursday evening concert featuring Grayson Masefield, Elsa Gourdy, Guillaume Fric, Jeremie Buirette, Romain Dupruis and Vitaly Kondratenko. |

 On 21st October, the Shanghai Childrens Palace hosted a concert featuring some of their accordion students and the two players from Shanghai who are representing China at the 2014 Coupe Mondiale in the Virtuoso Entertainment Category. Pictures below.The President of the Shanghai Accordion Association Crystal Wang opened the concert and the Shanghai Childrens Palace accordion tutor Wan Yi Zhong introduced the Shanghai Alliance of Accordion Group and the international contestants Sarah Wang Jie and Huang Meng Yao. Picture and videos of this concert is at: Shanghai21 On 24th October, Shanghai Normal University (SHNU) student Jessica Shi Xuan (poster right) performed her graduation concert at the SHNU University to a packed hall with a lot of extra seats were required.  13 year old Alexandra Reekie and her father Lionel Reekie were honored to receive separate awards at the New Zealand Variety Artists’ Benny Awards in a Gala event at The Crowne Plaza Auckland on October 12th. Lionel received the award for “Top Male Artist” and Alexandra, the “Rising Star Award”. Lionel was a recipient of the Rising Star Award himself in 1991 as an 18 year old, so it was a very special thrill that his daughter has also received the award, and that they were both honored with awards on the same night - an unusual event and perhaps a first for the Variety Artists. Alexandra started learning piano and accordion at a very early age and recently passed her Grade 8 Trinity College (London) piano examination with merit. Lionel is a singer/musician who performs in New Zealand and overseas and his wife, Elena is a piano teacher and dancer, so it is not unexpected that music has always formed a very big part of Alexandra’s life. Alexandra has been a regular competitor in local and national accordion competitions and has won both New Zealand and Australian titles. She is a pupil of Northcote Intermediate School and plays in her school’s rock and jazz bands, as well as being a member of both school representative basketball and netball teams. She is also a keen ballet dancer and a rhythmic gymnast. In 2013, Alexandra competed in the American Accordionists’ Association (AAA) USA national competitions in New York City and she will be the New Zealand representative at the Coupe Mondiale World Accordion Championships in Salzburg, Austria, later this month, competing in the Junior Virtuoso Entertainment category. |

 Final preparations for the “Timbre Russian Accordions Group" of Moscow tour are now happening. It is a very sad point that the bass player Michail Dmitrokopulo died this spring of cancer and therefore, the Timbres have a new bass player, Maksim Tkachev. Group members: Kuzminskiy Viacheslav (French horn), Stoma Viacheslav (clarinet), Zaitsev Pavel (oboe), Kochurov Alexey (accordion), Tkachev Maksim (tuba, bass) Tour organisers are: Irene Niederberger and Martin Frey together with Claude Alain Antonelli of "Club des Cent".  The Arcadia Library Foundation presents an evening of "dazzling virtuosity by Nick Ariondo" at 7 pm, Wednesday 19th November 2014.Accordionist / composer Nick Ariondo is performing original compositions and arrangements from Baroque to Jazz/Tango to Contemporary as a soloist and sometimes with guest artist Larry Hughes (clarinet and soprano sax). The concert will include a new rendition of Artie Shaw's Clarinet Concerto for clarinet & accordion.
