Annual holidays to the island of Barra gave Michael the opportunity to play at ceilidhs where he acquired a ‘West Coast’ style of playing, leading to winning the accordion competition at the National Mod in Inverness. Michael Garvin and the Ardmhor Ceilidh Band have performed in the USA, Canada, Australia, Germany, France, Egypt, Jersey, Sweden, Spain and Russia.
