Record Turnout for 8th Accordion Art Festival, Teramo – Italyby Renzo Ruggieri |
The 8th Accordion Art Festival and Orpheus Awards prize giving took place in Roseto Degli Abruzzi, Teramo, Italy, on June 14th and 15th. Applauded evening concerts included the world premiere of the show on tango and the life of Rudolph Valentino "Valentino E Tango" with actor Umberto Fabi and accordionist Renzo Ruggieri who conceived this event. Italy Award (International Competition) had record entries this year with over 60% foreigners, from Brazil, Finland, Lithuania, Belarus, Poland. Results are: Classical Accordion - Andrzei Grzbowski (Poland) Accordion Virtuoso - Lorenzo Bosica (Italy) Accordion Diatonic - Roberto Abate (Italy) Groups Classical Music - Trio MRD (Lithuania) Groups Jazz Music - Dainy Music School Ensemble (Lithuania) World Music Groups - Voglia d'Arte Duo Orpheus Award Winners 2014 Classical: Inconsistent Duo, So Far, So Close, Anchor Records Jazz: Daniele di Bonaventura, Nadir Tuk Music World: Donadelli Marini, Ballando Kramer, Taca Group Career: Bio Boccosi (Memorial) & Berben music publishing Those selected for the Trophée Mondial 2014 in Lithuania are: Daniele Carabetta, Gianluca Polini, Antonio Simeone, Giuseppe Gallone, Leonardo Ciraci, Emilio Rea, Andrea Di giacomo, Simone Paolucci, Manuel Scarpetta. The event was sponsored by the Associazione Promozione Arte in collaboration with the City of Pineto, Teramo, Italy, the Club Voglia D'Arte, and others.
