 Accordionist and composer Marco Lo Russo returns to Cuba, September 24th to October 8th, to represent Italy and perform at the 6th Leo Brouwer Festival of Chamber Music.Leo Brouwer is one of the greatest guitar players and composers of contemporary classics, admired throughout the world and especially in Cuba, where he has a number of official posts, including the direction of the music faculty at the Institute of Cinema. His festival is a prestigious cultural event involving artists from all over the world, and this year’s guest artists include Marco Lo Russo, Bobby McFerrin, Chucho Valdés, Jordi Savall and Yo-Yo Ma. The festival runs from September 26th to October 12th, involving over 300 musicians and artists from 12 countries, with more than forty world premieres of music. Before leaving for Cuba, next weekend from Friday 19th to Sunday September 21st, Marco Lo Russo will be in Castelfidardo, as a jury member for the competition at the 39th edition of the International Accordion Festival.
