 The Reading Liederkranz German Singing & Sports Society will hold their annual celebration this year from October 1st to 3rd, 2020 in Reading, Pennsylvania, USA.This year’s event will celebrate the first Oktoberfest – the wedding of Prince Ludwig of Bavaria and Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen in 1810. Dr Squeezebox - Kermit Ohlinger will be playing each night as the opening act of the entertainment! (picture right). See poster above for details of evening performers. Get crazy and come dressed up in your favorite Oktoberfest character. Trachten wear is welcome or take it up a notch and come as wedding guest of the early 19th Century. Organisers will have their own Prince Ludwig and Princess Therese and are planning re-enactments to go along with the schedule and theme! Each of the evening events will celebrate as follows: October 1st: The Engagement October 2nd: The Wedding October 3rd: The Banquet All current CDC / State / County and Social Distancing Guidelines will be followed. Masks are required for entry and must be worn when not seated. Tickets are limited to 200 people each night for outdoor events.
