 Diatonic button accordionist John Nolan celebrates St Patrick’s Day on Sunday March 17th, 4pm until 8pm, at the Blackthorn Restaurant, 735 Rte 46, Parsippany, NJ.New York-based John Nolan, specializing in 2 and 3 row diatonics, repairs, tunes, sells and teaches accordions, and has his own website. Born and raised in the Bronx, John Nolan’s first introduction to Irish music was listening to his father play a Baldoni D/C# button accordion. He learned the fundamentals of the B/C accordion from John Glynn and Billy McComiskey. In 1982, John journeyed to Listowel, County Kerry, to compete in the All Ireland Fleadh Cheoil Na hEireann and became the first American to win the Senior All Ireland Championship on both the two and three row button accordions.
