Black Pencil, which features accordionist Marko Kassl will perform works by Bach, Vivaldi and Debussy, “interspersed with surprising forays into gypsy music, dances, music from long ago and brand new compositions.” In addition you will hear masterpieces of classical music from the centuries-old Caioni Codex. In the eighties, a bricklayer found this collection of music in a wall of a shelter where monks had hidden it from the Russian soldiers during World War II. Black Pencil chose 18 pieces from the more than three hundred-year-old Caioni Codex, which contains a collection of pieces of music with an unprecedented variety of styles.
