| Le projet « Archives Vidéo Coupe Mondiale 2010 et Projet Educatif » est un nouveau projet de la Condédération Internationale des Accordéonistes (Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes CIA) avec le soutien des sponsors Pigini Accordéons et Accordions Worldwide. Le projet inclut : (i) Un support vidéo de toutes les catégories de la Coupe Mondiale et de ses candidats, qui sera conservé dans les archives de la CIA en Finlande, lesquelles deviendront au fil des ans un patrimoine d’enregistrements historiques. (ii) Des téléchargements gratuits des performances des 3 lauréats de chaque catégorie de la Coupe Mondiale. Ceux-ci seront mis à disposition gratuitement online, pour les besoins pédagogiques des professeurs et étudiants. Le but est de permettre un accès libre à la connaissance et à l’information, et ainsi permettre une augmentation du niveau des performances musicales des accordéonistes au niveau international. Nous remercions Pigini sàrl (Pigini srl) pour leur parrainage, qui permet de mettre cette semaine à disposition les prestations de Petar Maric (Serbie), 1ère place, Milan Vidovic (Bosnie-Herzegovine), 2ème place, et Petar Mirkov (Sebie), 3ème place.  Le 5ème concours international pour bajanistes et accordéonistes a lieu à Moscou du 12 au 19 décembre 2010. Il est ouvert aux musiciens âgés de 18 à 32 ans au moment du concours. Le concours se déroule en trois tours : deux tours préliminaires et la finale. Les deux catégories principales du concours sont « Academic Music » et « Variety Music ». Le programme du festival inclut : 12 décembre: A. Cholminov: "Concert pour Bajan und Orchestre symphonique" (Première mondiale) - Friedrich Lips (Bajan), Orchestre symphonique de l’académie Gnessin, Directeur :Timur Mynbayev, Lauréats du concours international de bajan de Moscou, 2005 : Maria Wlassowa (Accordeon), Aleksandr Selivanov (Bajan) – Elèves de la classe de F. Lips. 14 décembre: Damir Sultanow (Bajan, Kazakstan), Teodoro Anzellotti (Akkordeon, Suisse). 16 décembre: Bayan Orchester de l’académie Gnessin, Directeurs : Michail Archipov und Oleg Tarasov.  Le prochain festival et concours « Jeunes Talents » aura lieu les 16 et 17 mars 2011 et comprendra : · Un concours international d’accordéon en catégorie « Accordéon Variété » ainsi qu’en catégorie « Accordéon Classique ». Des prix d’une valeur totale de 5100 Euros seront décernés aux lauréats du concours. L’hébergement est offert pour les candidats étrangers. Deux concerts auront lieu, dont l’un avec le duo Paris-Moscou, avec Domi Emorine et Roman Jbanov. · Des concerts en soirée avec les quatre lauréats du grand prix international en catégorie Accordéon Variété 2011. Le public sera invité à voter et à attribuer le « Prix du Public 2011 » au meilleur interprète. Pas moins de 24 pays du monde entier étaient représentés durant le Festival « Jeunes Talents » 2010. De brillants et talentueux accordéonistes ont gagné le Grand Prix, comme Grayson Masefield (Nouvelle Zélande), Camille Privat (France), Barbara Slawinska (Pologne), Dimitri Bouclier (France), Katsiaryna Taras (Biélorussie), and Dragan Vasiljevic (Yougoslavie). | L’accordéoniste et compositeur Guy Klucevsek a été récompensé d’une bourse USA Artist Fellowship, d’une valeur de 50.000 $. Ces bourses sont attribuées à des « artistes à tout niveaux de carrières, qui démontrent une excellence artistique, une vision artistique unique et contribuent de manière signifiante à leur domaine. Cette année, 52 Fellows USA représentent les talents les plus innovateurs et créatifs du pays. Ceux-ci comprennent des artistes d’expérimentation moderne, des artistes traditionnels des domaines architecture et design, artisanat et arts traditionnels, danse, littérature, films et médias, musique, théâtre et arts visuels. Cette année marque la 5ème année du programme USA Fellows, ce qui porte à 12,5 millions de dollars la somme que les USA ont investie pour des artistes vivants ! Guy Klucevsek a interprété "Chez Sechelles", composé par le violoniste Michael Doucet le 7 décembre 2010 dans le programme du "Live from Jazz at Lincoln Center". Ceci était diffusé en direct en ligne et a été suivi dans tous les états-unis. Les groupe avec lequel Guy a joué a reçu dans le passé des bourses USA Fellows et Guy était le lauréat le plus récent. Mogens Ellegaard: 75. anniversaire-tribut, London – GBby Roland Williams |
 La présentation et le concert du 25 novembre 2010 à la Royal Academy of Music fêtaient le 75ème anniversaire de la naissance de feu Mogens Ellegaard. Dans son discours d’ouverture, Owen Murray expliqua que sans le travail de pionnier de Mogens Ellegaard, ni lui ni ses élèves ne seraient là, ceci étant valable pour bon nombre d’autres conservatoires à travers l’Europe. La mort de Mogens à l’âge de 60 ans fut un choc dévastateur pour sa famille, ses amis et les accordéonistes à travers le monde.Owen a passé 8 ans au Danemark entre 1974 et 1982, étudiant la musique chez Ellegaard à la Royal Academy of Music à Copenhague. Le discours d’Owen était illustré d’histoires personnelles, d’un enregistrement CD, ainsi que de paroles d’Ellegaard lui-même lors d’un enregistrement à la BBC, tandis que des notes et partitions étaient projetées pour le public sur un écran. Owen rappela au public une histoire qu’Ellegaard racontait fréquemment : comment il avait commencé à jouer de l’accordéon à l’âge de 8 ans, après qu’un accident l’eut conduit à l’hôpital. « Il était tombé d’un balcon. Heureusement pour lui, pour ses parents ainsi que pour les générations futures d’accordéonistes, il n’était pas très haut. Ses parents lui offrirent un accordéon pour l’encourager. » |

| The Viennese Accordion Ensemble, directed by Werner Weibert, celebrated its annual festival concert in the newly opened concert hall of Perchtoldsdorf Castle, near Vienna, on Friday, November 12th. Their program included works by Clarke, Bach, Mozart, Dvorak, Strauss, Moszkowski, Strauß, Bernstein and Piazzolla. Ulrike Reinthaler, together with dancing partner Gerhard Krypl, were the special attraction of the evening by performing ‘Oblivion’ and ‘Fuga Nueve’ with the Viennese Accordion Ensemble. As usual, the concert was closed with some famous songs, very popular and well acclaimed by the public. |

 On November 8, 2010, renowned accordionist Peter Soave performed the USA Premier of Duilio Dobrin's "Concerto for Bandoneon" in Dallas, Texas.Argentine-born composer, Dr. Duilio Dobrin, Chair of Music Theory and Composition at BTWHSPVA, recorded his concerto for Bandoneon and Orchestra, “Of All Things Lost”, with an ensemble comprised of Dallas Symphony Orchestra strings and the renowned art magnet’s top string players, on November 8, 2010, at the Winspear Opera House, Nancy Hamon Hall. International bandoneon virtuoso Peter Soave, was the soloist. Recognized worldwide as a master of the bandoneon and concert accordion, Peter Soave has established himself as one of the leading soloists of his generation. This performance was made possible through a grant from the Esping Foundation. Dr. Dobrin joined Dallas ISD after serving 8 years as Resident Conductor of the Florida Philharmonic Orchestra. |

| Well known conductor Günther Stoll has had a busy November with concerts on the 6th, 13th and 20th November with the Handharmonika-Club Nufringen and his new orchestra of nearly 3 years, from Rutesheim-Flacht. "The Handharmonika-Club Nufringen concerts featured the premiere performance of 'Abschied von Camelot' written by Hansjörg Staudacher. The work had some very difficult rhythms!! but was a delightful composition, well appreciated by the audience." In the other concerts the orchestras played with different choirs such compositions as Johann Strauss and more modern works from Michael Jackson, Sister Act and Gospels. The contrast was “Drei Madrigale” from Wolfgang Jacobi. Very exciting performance music. Günther Stoll writes that “my work goes really well with enthusiastic audiences and enough students to make planning for the 2011 years concerts quite exciting work.” |

| Players of all ages from the North Shore Accordion Orchestras conducted by Christine Adams performed before the start of the Farmers Santa Parade, in Auckland on Sunday November 28th. This parade attracts a huge crowd of children and parents who lined the streets to see the bands, floats and clowns bringing Santa to town. The picture shows the group whilst they are performing.  On December 13th 1996 Accordions Worldwide reproduces a report about American accordionist Carmelo Pino’s extraordinary record of performing at successive inauguration balls for incoming U.S. presidents, from Lyndon B. Johnson to Bill Clinton.CARMELO PINO TO PLAY AT BILL CLINTON'S INAUGUARAL BALL, WASHINGTON - USA Contributed by Faithe Deffner, President of the American Accordionists' Association When U.S. Presidents win an election, they celebrate at an Inaugural Ball. One of the most prominent bands at these state balls is Gene Donati's 18-piece group, of which accordionist Carmelo Pino is an often-featured member. Pino also serves as the band's assistant conductor. On 20th January, 1997, it will be the ninth such event at which Pino will be featured on accordion, beginning with the 1965 Lyndon Johnson Inaugural, followed by those of '69 and '73 (Richard Nixon), '77 (Jimmy Carter), '81 and '85 (Ronald Reagan), '89 (George Bush) and '93 when Clinton was elected for his first term. In addition, Carmelo Pino is a frequent entertainer at the White House where he has been called to play at festive occasions during the administrations of several Presidents. |

| The organisers of the annual Sata-Häme Soi Accordion Festival have announced a fun contest via their Facebook page. Entrants can participate by videoing themselves playing the accordion, and performing their own version of a familiar rock, pop, hip hop, or R&B piece, which no-one could possibly think would be played on an accordion. The video should be uploaded in the Videos section on the Sata-Häme Facebook page with the label ‘Accordion Hero’. Anyone can participate by voting for any of the videos – simply by clicking on the thumbs up sign. The winner will be the maker of the most voted for video, and will be awarded a Roland FR-2, or an FR-2b digital accordion. The contest ends on December 31st 2010. The winner’s name will be published in the Sata-Häme Soi community page. The organizers have the right to remove any videos that are in bad taste, racist or otherwise inappropriate.  Accordionist Djordje Gajjic performs seasonal melodies with a continental flavour, in a concert billed as ‘A Winter Night in Paris’, on December 19th, 9pm. The performance takes place in the Russian Café - Gallery Cossachok, ground floor, at Trongate 103, Glasgow G1 5HD, Scotland.Djordje Gajic began his musical studies in Yugoslavia at the age of 6, finally graduating from the Russian Academy of Music in 1995. He has won many International Competitions, amongst them the CMA Trophee Mondiale in 1988 and the Grand Prix in 1987, and has performed with the Russian State Symphony Orchestra, as well as many solo recitals throughout Europe. |
