 Vídeo: Un breve vídeo del concierto jubilar, la solista es Zorica Karakutovska.Recientemente se celebró en Macedonia el concierto jubilar "20 años de las composiciones de Bete Ilin". La composición "Done" (Bete Ilin) fue compuesta especialmente para el evento del Día Mundial del Acordeón (WAD) y está dedicada a la vicepresidenta de la Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes (CIA), Zorica Karakutovska. Bete siempre se ha inspirado en la música tradicional macedonia, utilizando motivos en sus composiciones de música contemporánea. En la composición "Done" seleccionó tres hermosas canciones que contienen el nombre tradicional macedonio Done. Para el concierto jubilar que celebra los "20 años de las composiciones de Bete Ilin", Bete reelaboró la composición para una actuación con una orquesta de cuerdas, dirigida por Rebecca Tong. El presidente de la CIA, Mirco Patarini, vino desde Italia para interpretar la composición de Bete Ilin "Dafino" en el concierto de aniversario. Las imágenes de la sala llena y del público muy entusiasta muestran cuán apreciada y querida es Bete Ilin, por sus 20 años de célebres composiciones, muchas de las cuales han sido compuestas para acordeón e interpretadas en muchos países del mundo. ¡Gracias Bete Ilin por tu contribución al acordeón! Beltango Quinteto realizará un concierto "Beltango & Friends" en la Sala de Conciertos Kolarac en Belgrado, Serbia, el 13 de diciembre de 2023 a las 21:00 horas.  El XXXV Festival Internacional "Bayan y Acordeonistas" 2023 se llevará a cabo en la Sala de Conciertos de la Academia Rusa de Música (RAM) Gnesin en Moscú, Rusia, del 13 al 17 de diciembre de 2023.Friedrich Lips es el director artístico del festival y Alexander Gataullin es el director del festival. | Slaviša Peric organized the International Accordion Festival in Graz, Austria, for the eighth time this year. It is the aim of the Festival Director to bring together artists, educators and candidates from different countries every year for peaceful competition with an extensive exchange of opinions. The positive development of the last few years proves that he is right in his work. Young talents are discovered and promoted and the accordion is made better known to a broader public. A special thank you goes to the Graz Cultural Office and Mayor Elke Kahr for their understanding and active support. 40 participants from a total of eight countries (Austria, Slovakia, Italy, Germany, Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina) showed their considerable skills in 13 categories (classical accordion, accordion with chamber music and virtuoso light music). After the opening by the Trio Artists, Nemanja Kalajdžic, Djordje Peric , Marko Ristic (Bosnia and Herzegovina) as well as Peter Sokol and Sara Sokolova (both Slovakia) showed their considerable skills at a young age. Bela Brichzin (Germany) and Emanuele Viti (Italy) put their international competition experience to good use and won the highest categories in classical accordion and light music. The jury was made up of Mirco Patarini (Italy), Herbert Scheibenreif (Austria), Jovica Djordjevic (Austria/Serbia), Marko Milicevic (Slovakia/Bosnia and Herzegovina), Dragana Mladenovic (Serbia), Maria Budzakova (Slovakia) and Slaviša Peric (Bosnia and Herzegovina). |

| Accordionist Philippe Rodrigues will entertain tourists taking part in the “Destination Portugal” coach tour from March 31st to April 7th, 2024. The tour will depart from Malemort, France on March 31st and travel to Burgos (Spain), Douro Valley, Porto, Coimbra (Portugal) and Lisbon.   Video: Guy Klucevsek: "Hope Dies Last": Official Trailer.New video trailer for the Guy Klucevsek album, "Hope Dies Last," available now. With excerpts from 7 of the 19 tracks. Musicians include Jenny Lin, Todd Reynolds, and of course Guy himself. Available now from Starkland: A new digital-only release of Guys music featuring pianist Jenny Lin, violinist Todd Reynolds, the Smudges (Jeff Gauthier, violin, Maggie Parkins, cello), and an avalanche of accordions played by Alan Bern, Bachtopus, Will Holshouser, Nathan Koci and Guy. Solos, duos, trios, and more. After retiring from performing in late 2018, Klucevsek wrote much of the music for this new album. 17 of the 19 tracks are heard here for the first time, including the premiere of his 6-movement suite for Laurie McCants’ multimedia piece Industrious Angels. These recordings feature such stellar musicians as pianist Jenny Lin and violinist Todd Reynolds. The music varies from the simple, deeply moving "Dear Werner" and the hauntingly spare melody of "How Slow the Whistle Sang" to the wildly raucous clanging of a toy piano in "A Little Madness in the Spring" and the powerful blasts, from multiple, full-throated accordions, in "String of Garlands". In this album, Klucevsek continues his tradition of writing “the world’s most abnormal ‘normal’ music” (Village Voice), wherein instantly appealing and seemingly simple pieces surreptitiously employ unusual and imaginative arrangements.  It is the time of year, once again, when my mind goes to holiday music, magical light displays, celebrations with loved ones, and to my all-time favorite movie, “It’s a Wonderful Life”. I have watched this heartwarming movie every Christmas season for the last 50 years. The message conveyed in this film is one that each of us should hear often: None of us is a failure if we have helped others, even in a small way.The star of this movie, Jimmy Stewart, has always been my favorite actor. Wholesome and warmly “real”, Stewart could so convincingly bring his characters to life. It’s a Wonderful Life, produced and directed by Frank Capra in 1946, was one of three Capra films that starred Jimmy Stewart. Capra felt that Stewart was perfect to project a message of an ideal America. The two men became close friends. I soon discovered that they had something else in common: they both played and loved the accordion. Given an accordion at the age of six, Jimmy Stewart fell in love with this instrument and it remained a beloved part of his life until his death. In 1938, Stewart was chosen to do a photo shoot for a cover of the new periodical, the “Accordion World Magazine”. The photos were mesmerizing with incredible shadows of his accordion’s bellows. Although Jimmy Stewart’s celebrated film career spanned 80 films and he was a Brigadier General in the Army Air Force during WWII (1941-1947), it was the accordion that meant the most to him in the end. Stewart chose one of the photos taken for the Accordion World Magazine in 1938 to be used when he passed away. Jimmy Stewart died in 1997 at the age of 89. I strongly suggest watching “It’s a Wonderful Life” this holiday season. In the last few moments of the film, Police Officer Bert (Ward Bond) comes in playing “Auld Lang Syne” on a beautiful old accordion. Happy Holidays, Everyone!!   A “Great Christmas Play-in” will be held at the Kulturhus 't Kruispunt in Laren, Gelderland, Netherlands on December 17th, 2023 from 10am to 5pm.The event celebrates the 75th anniversary of Zweverink Muziek and the 25th anniversary of NJAO (Netherlands Youth Accordion Orchestra). Over the past 25 years, various students/youth orchestra members of Dinie Zweverink have been part of the NJAO, so conductor Jorind Josemans approached Dinie to organize a play-in and concert together. The day will begin with the “play-in” together with the NJAO. Approx. 40 accordionists from all over the country have already registered to play with the NJAO. A final concert will be held at 3pm and feature performances by the NJAO, the NJAO with the play-inners, the Jubilee Orchestra and finally everyone will play together – over 100 accordionists.  El Festival ATG 2024 rinde homenaje a Joan C. Sommers y celebra su 90 cumpleaños en Kansas City MI, del 23 al 27 de julio de 2024.Hay una serie de eventos especiales que incluyen la Orquesta del Festival ATG dirigida por Joan C. Sommers tocando nueva música de Gorka Hermosa e Ian Watson, la Orquesta de Acordeón Comunitaria de UMKC dirigida por Joan C. Sommers. Una magnífica variedad de artistas de nivel internacional que incluyen: (orden alfabético) Bridge y Wolak (Canadá), Das Duo Kollektiv (Austria), Gorka Hermosa (España) Grayson Masefield (Nueva Zelanda), Mirco Patarini (Presidente de la CIA - Italia), Stas Venglevski (EE.UU.) y otros.
