| Slaviša Peric organized the International Accordion Festival in Graz, Austria, for the eighth time this year. It is the aim of the Festival Director to bring together artists, educators and candidates from different countries every year for peaceful competition with an extensive exchange of opinions. The positive development of the last few years proves that he is right in his work. Young talents are discovered and promoted and the accordion is made better known to a broader public. A special thank you goes to the Graz Cultural Office and Mayor Elke Kahr for their understanding and active support. 40 participants from a total of eight countries (Austria, Slovakia, Italy, Germany, Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina) showed their considerable skills in 13 categories (classical accordion, accordion with chamber music and virtuoso light music). After the opening by the Trio Artists, Nemanja Kalajdžic, Djordje Peric , Marko Ristic (Bosnia and Herzegovina) as well as Peter Sokol and Sara Sokolova (both Slovakia) showed their considerable skills at a young age. Bela Brichzin (Germany) and Emanuele Viti (Italy) put their international competition experience to good use and won the highest categories in classical accordion and light music. The jury was made up of Mirco Patarini (Italy), Herbert Scheibenreif (Austria), Jovica Djordjevic (Austria/Serbia), Marko Milicevic (Slovakia/Bosnia and Herzegovina), Dragana Mladenovic (Serbia), Maria Budzakova (Slovakia) and Slaviša Peric (Bosnia and Herzegovina). |
