II International Competition of Folk Instrument Players – Russia

The II International Competition of Folk Instruments Players (B.A.G. – Bayan, Accordion, Garmonika) was hosted in the Moscow Province College of Arts from 1st to 3rd of April 2016.

The first competition was held two years ago at the initiative of highly regarded Moscow teacher and concert artist, Alexander Selivanov (picture right). The first edition gathered a very large number of participants – about 150 musicians. This year the tradition has continued with the competition attracting more than 130 participants.

The competition was supported by the Ministry of Culture of Moscow region, Moscow Province College of Arts, the Children's School of Arts by A.N. Verstovsky, accordion company Scandalli and LTD "Concert program".

The geography of the competition has expanded with musicians from different regions of Russia (Moscow and Moscow region, St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Kurgan, Petrozavodsk, Krasnoyarsk, etc.), as well as from other countries – Lithuania, Belarus and China.
