  The Donal Ring Ceili Band, one of Ireland’s best known and longest active ceili bands, perform for a dance to celebrate Donal Ring’s 58th anniversary as a band leader on Sunday October 16th, 8pm until midnight, at the Vienna Woods Hotel, Glanmire, County Cork. Donal Ring (born 1935), an admirer of Jimmy Shand and a player of the Shand Morino button accordion, formed his own ceili band in 1958. Through many recordings and broadcasts on Radio Eireann, Radio Luxembourg, and the BBC, the Donal Ring Ceili Band became well known and highly regarded far and wide. Accordionist Dermot Lyons, also a Shand Morino player, will do a guest spot during the evening. For further information email: donalring1@gmail.com |
