8 000 USD de prix pour le concours-hommage à Carmen Carrozza 2017 - USAby Harley Jones |
L' American Accordionists' Association (AAA) annonce 8 000 dollars de prix en cash pour le concours-hommage à Carmen Carrozza 2017 qui se tiendra du 12 au 16 juillet lors du festival annuel 2017 de l'AAA. Le lieu du concours est le Westin Princeton au Forrestal Village du New Jersey, Princeton, NJ 08540. Pour promouvoir encore le répertoire de commandes de l'AAA , le comité des bourses Carmen Carrozza offre 8 000 dollars aux gagnants de ce concours ouvert à tous les accordéons acoustiques. La section Senior et la section Junior de ce concours demandent aux accordéonistes de choisir une pièce dans la listes des commandes, une dans le répertoire usuel (les sélections seront annoncées sur le site de l'AAA) et une pièce ou plus de variété – toutes à jouer dans le même programme afin de démontrer la polyvalence du musicien. Pour le règlement complet et les modalités, merci de contacter le bureau de l'AAA. Les candidats étrangers ayant besoin d'une invitation pour leur visa sont invités à la demander avant le 1er mars. |
Le Grand Soufflet 2016, Rennes – Franceby Rob Howard |
Deux vidéos ci-dessus du Grand Soufflet 2015. Le Grand Soufflet 2016 est un festival d'accordéon qui se tient dans le village de Thabor et d'autres lieux de Rennes, Bretagne, du 6 au 15 octobre. Ce festival annuel coloré célébre l'accordéon, tout autant ses liens avec les musiques traditionnelles que son adaptabilité dans un contexte moderne. Des accordéonistes d'autres pays participent, artistes de rock, de jazz, d'électro comme de cabaret. Andreas & Naoko Nebl en tournée en octobre - Japonby Harley Jones |
Video ci-dessus : rappel à Castelo Branco à la fin du concert 2009. Le célébre accordéoniste allemand Andreas Nebl a effectué une tournée au Japon en compagnie de sa femme, l'ancienne championne du monde de diatonique Naoko Nebl (née Takeuchi). Avec un nouveau programme d'oeuvres de Bach, Haendel, et de musique japonaise il captivèrent leur public japonais. Rien qu'à Kanagawa, il avait plus de 800 personnes à ce concert classique. Le pianiste Shigeko Ishii se produisit également avec le couple en musique de chambre. L'année prochaine, Andreas et Naoko Nebl se produiront au "World Harmonica Festival" de Trossingen qui se tiendra du 31 Octobre au 5 Novembre 2017. |
20èmes championnats d'accordéon d'Irlande du Nord, Carrickfergus – Royaume-Uniby Rob Howard |
Les 20èmes championnats d'accordéon d'Irlande du Nord se tiendront au Loughshore hotel de Carrickfergus le samedi 25 février de 9h00 à 17h00, la remise des prix ayant lieu le soir-même au cours d'un gala de danse. L'hôtel propose des tarifs spéciaux ce week end et qui souhaite dormir sur place doit réserver vite car l'hôtel était complet l'année dernière. Les 19èmes championnats qui s'était tenus plus tôt cette année ont attiré un record de 245 inscrits. Les concours concernent tous les styles de musique pour accordéon solo, duo, groupe, orchestre, orchestre de rue ; tous les âges et niveaux, du classique à la variété et au trad. Trois salles seront utilisées toute la journée. Ces championnats sont organisés selon le règles de la National Accordion Organisation of the United Kingdom (NAO) et sont qualificatifs pour les championnats 2017 du Royaume-Uni qui se tiendront à Liverpoool du 21 au 23 avril. Tout habitant du Royaume-Uni qui concourt dans une catégorie de la NAO sera qualifié pour concourir dans la catégorie correspondante des championnats du Royaume-Uni. BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician 2017 Finalists Announced - UKby Rob Howard |
Video above: 2016 winner Mohsen Amini. The BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician 2017 Finalists have been announced. These are Charlie Stewart - fiddle (Perthshire), Dougie McCance - bagpipes (Glasgow), Ella Munro - Scots song (Skye), Grant McFarlane - accordion (Paisley), Iona Fyfe - Scots song, (Huntly), and Kim Carnie - Gaelic song (Oban). Thirteen musicians arrived in Coulter, South Lanarkshire, on October 8th to compete to get to the final of the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician Award. They all performed for 10 minutes each with accompanists Mhairi Hall (piano) and Michael Bryan (guitar). There were two accordionists involved, Grant McFarlane and Craig Paton. It was an amazing concert and all the musicians performed brilliantly. The judges (David Francis, Stuart Cassells, Rona Wilkie, Scott Gardiner, Maeve Mackinnon and Iain MacInnes) chose 6 musicians to go through to the finals. The all-female band Cherish the Ladies, who specialize in Irish traditional music, perform in concert on Saturday October 15th, 7pm, at the Crescent Elk Auditorium, Crescent City, California. "It is simply impossible to imagine an audience that wouldn't enjoy what they do", says the Boston Globe speaking of Cherish the Ladies, the long-running, Grammy-nominated, Irish-American super group that formed in New York City in 1985 to celebrate the rise of extraordinary women in what had been a male-dominated Irish music scene and has since toured the world, played the White House and the Olympics, recorded 16 outstanding albums including ‘“An Irish Homecoming’, a live recording of their Emmy winning TV special that aired across America and Ireland. Accordionist Zoltan Orosz and percussionist Kornel Horvath, both from Hungary, perform in concert together on Sunday October 16th, 6.30pm, at the Centro Cultural Iortia, Altsasu (Alsasua), Navarre, in northern Spain. Zoltan Orosz studied the accordion and the organ at the Bela Bartok Conservatory in Budapest, and later at the Franz Liszt College, Budapest. On Sunday October 16th, 2.30pm, the popular accordionist Erika, known as ‘The Princess of the Accordion’ and her band, play for dancing at Salles Prevoto, Isles-Sur-Suippe, 51110 Bazancourt, Marne, north-eastern France. Erika Honorez is from Tilly, a village close to Villers La Ville in Belgium. She comes from a musical family, and received her first accordion at the age of 5 years. Erika's teacher was Mr Franz Lebrun from the Brussels Conservatory, and she studied the theory of music and classical music, then specialized in the musette genre. Since 1981 Erika has been performing, composing, and recording. She has appeared on radio and TV in Belgium and France. Erika has recorded many CDs and DVDs, which are available through her website. Formed in 1996, the Motion Trio are Janusz Wojtarowicz, Pawel Baranek, and Marcin Galazyn. Using all the advantages of the accordion in their creations, the Motion Trio continually explore the new possibilities of this instrument, changing the way that it is perceived. On Saturday October 22nd, 5pm, the trio Flukt perform a programme of folk tunes at Trysil Treff 2016, Park Inn, Trysil Mountain Resort. This concert is part of a weekend of folk music. Flukt are Øivind Farmen – accordion, Sturla Eide - violin, and Håvard Sterten – percussion. Øivind Farmen, winner of many high level competitions including Klingenthal (1993) and the CMA Trophee Mondiale (in Faro Portugal, 1996), is one of Norway’s finest and most accomplished accordionists. The Accordion Pops Orchestra (MD Al Terzo) performs in concert on Sunday October 23rd, 2pm, at the Veterans Hospital, 151 Knollcroft Rd, Lyons, New Jersey.
