 For the very first time, together with Friedrich Lips (bayan) and his son Svyatoslav Lips (piano), the Chamber Orchestra of the Smolensk Philharmonic under the direction of Honored Artist of Russia Mikhail Arkadev performed works by Efrem Podgaits - Concerto # 2 Viva Voce for bayan and chamber orchestra. Picture above: Friedrich Lips, Mikhail Arkadev and Svyatoslav Lips. The program of the concert also included also works by Bach, Piazzolla and Rodriguez. Thanks to the excellent work of the Foundation for Presidential Grants, the Educational Center of Yuri Bashmet, all teachers of the Center, teachers and students of the School of Arts in Smolensk and the Smolensk region, were able to attend the masterclass of Friedrich Lips, People's Artist of Russia and Professor at RAM in Moscow. The masterclass was held at the Smolensk Philharmony. |
