 During the opening gala of this year’s Viennese accordion festival HVÖ president Werner Weibert and CIA Vice President Dr. Herbert Scheibenreif presented the CIA Award “Honored Friend of the Accordion” to Friedl Preisl, organizer of the Accordion Festival Vienna, for his outstanding contribution to the accordion.The program of the 2009 festival (Vienna 2009 Program) includes many international and home-grown artistes alike – and on 17 different stages, from Porgy & Bess to the Jugendstiltheater and is one of the major annual accordion festivals in the world.
