 Video above: Guest Performer Forró de KA.The Akkordeon Musik Preis 2018 is a major event organised by the Deutscher Harmonika-Verband e.V. (DHV), the Finals being held 31 May to 03 June 2018 in Bruchsal. The 2018 Musik-Preis competitions are for solo, duo, chamber music ensembles and ensembles of various instruments. Participants must be under 27 years and have their permanent residence in Germany. Their are competition categories for Mundharmonika (mouth organ) and for Diatonic and Steirische type accordions. The competitions are divided into two phases. Phase 1 is 16 qualification competitions around Germany for amateurs being held during January, February and March 2018. These 16 competitions determine the amateur entrants for the Finals. Phase 2 Final Competition in Bruchsal, is also open for professional instrumentalists. For the concert program, there will be two performances from winners of the April 2017 International Open Accordion Contest in Trossingen. These are winners of the category of World Music/Bands, Aldo Duo from Poland (1st prize) and Forró de KA Germany (2nd prize).
