| Accordionist Kimmo Pohjonen will give the USA Premiere of "Accordion Wrestling" in his New York appearance with Helsinki Nelson on August 3rd and 4th, 2012 at 8:30 PM at the Lincoln Center Out of Doors concert on the Damrosch Park Stage. The stage is next to the Metropolitan Opera House. "Accordion Wrestling" was originally created for the Turkish Cultural Capital of Europe Program in 2011. The event is sponsored by SofTrek Corporation and made possible in part by the Consulate General of Finland, The Foundation for the Promotion of Finnish Music (LUSES), The Finnish Performing Music Promotion Centre ESEK, Finn Spark, Inc. and Finlandia Foundation National. Kimmo Pohjonen, a Finnish accordionist, is a highly respected "accordion adventurer" who is composing, playing and performing accordion music in revolutionary new ways. He has recorded and performed with many projects and groups worldwide plus has composed music for films, dance and theatre. |
