| Le 3ème Festival du Printemps de l'Accordéon se tiendra au Conservatorio Statale di Musica "Gaetano Braga" à Teramo, Abruzzes, Italie du 16 au 18 mai 2024. Les directeurs artistiques sont Massimiliano Pitocco et Renzo Ruggieri.  Le New Forest Folk Festival aura lieu à Powells Farm, Plaitford, Romsey, Hampshire, Angleterre, Royaume-Uni du 3 au 7 juillet 2024.Les interprètes d'accordéon incluent « Slim Chance » (photo ci-dessous), un groupe de six musiciens parmi lesquels l'accordéoniste Charlie Hart. « 3 Daft Monkeys » (photo de gauche) se produira également au festival. Ce groupe comprend Athene Roberts (accordéon, violon et chant), Tim Ashton (chant, guitare et sifflet), Jamie Graham (basse) et Rich Mulryne (percussions et chant). 2ème « Championnat Russe d'Accordéon et de Bayan » - Russieby Ivan Dyma, SaxAkkord Duo |

| Le 2ème concours panrusse ouvert « Championnat russe d'accordéon et de bayan » aura lieu à Tioumen, en Russie, du 11 au 16 mai 2024. Cet événement annuel est organisé avec le soutien de la Fondation caritative Golden Gate de Sibérie, de l'Académie russe de musique Gnessine, de la Confédération internationale des accordéonistes (CIA), de l'administration municipale de Tioumen, d'ANO Muzis et de l'usine d'accordéons et Bayanov Scandalli Rus. Les étudiants des écoles de musique pour enfants et des écoles d'art pour enfants, les étudiants des établissements d'enseignement professionnel secondaire et supérieur, ainsi que les artistes professionnels de Russie et d'autres pays pourront participer au concours.  Que faites vous la Journée de l’accordéon (World Accordion Day - WAD) pour promovoir l’accordéon dans votre pays ?La journée de l’accordéon est le 6 mai, qui est le jour où l’accordéon a été inventé en 1829. La journée de l’accordéon a été créé en 2009 par le CIA et a rencontré beaucoup de succès depuis, donnant une image positive de l’accordéon. Un des maillons essentiels de cet évènement est le site web de la Journée de l’accordéon. Chaque association, groupe, orchestre, joueur ou enseignant sont priés de soutenir activement cet évènement en proposant ce jour-là, dans leur pays, des activités nationales et locales autour de l’accordéon. Cela peut s’organiser aussi le week end d’avant ou après si c’était plus commode. Chacun peut inscrire son activité pour la journée de l’accordéon sur le site web et envoyer a posteriori un compte rendu qui sera publié sur le site. Aucun évènement n’est trop gros ou ni trop petit. Tous les évènements liés à l’accordéon pour célébrer la journée de l’accordéon seront les bienvenus. C’est une campagne organisée par le Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes (CIA) pour l’accordéon où tout féru d’accordéon peut participer, le but étant de renforcer les liens de la communauté autour de l’accordéon et de promouvoir l’instrument. |

| La Journée Mondiale de l'Accordéon 2024 et le Festival Dr Willard A Palmer auront lieu au Musée A World of Accordions, Harrington Arts Center à Superior, Wisconsin, États-Unis, du 2 au 5 mai 2024. L'événement débutera par un concert gratuit pour les familles de Jane Christison et comprendra un dîner de célébration. Les célébrations de la Journée mondiale de l'accordéon comprendront un « accueil » spécial de Kevin Friedrich, ambassadeur de la CIA, des questions et réponses avec Helmi Harrington, Ph.D., fondateur et conservateur de AWA et un accueil du maire Jim Paine. Les lauréats de l'événement sont : George Curletto, Willard A. Palmer III et Joan C. Sommers. Les événements se poursuivront avec une visite des collections du musée, la première mondiale du documentaire sponsorisé par l'ATG, « Un monde d'accordéons ». . . a Harrington Legacy », performance de la Chicagoland Accordion Academy (dirigée par Mary Ann Covone), atelier de Joan Cochran Sommers « Que devrions-nous apprendre entre le Livre 3 et le Livre 10 ? Gammes, arpèges, accords et plus encore ! », concert de musique d'accordéon du monde par Accordion & Concertina Music Band & Friends, et se terminant par une performance de Mike Middleton and the Middletones, qui comprend . Norman Seaton, Sharon Seaton, Alex, Johnny Young, A packed house of conventioneers and members of the community gathered at the National Accordion Association convention in Lewisville, Texas on March 22nd, 2024, to celebrate internationally renowned virtuoso Alex Meixner as he was presented with the Happy Music Ambassador recognition award. Happy Music Center President, Johnny Young, together with NAA president Norman Seaton and NAA board member Sharon Seaton, presented Meixner with the Happy Music Ambassador trophy and plaque, honoring his dedication and commitment to music, happiness and community. “This recognition award symbolizes appreciation for those with an unwavering commitment and dedication to creating, performing, teaching, and advocating as a catalyst for positive change through the universal language of music,” said Sharon Seaton. Johnny Young said, “Your unyielding dedication and passion for music have created a lasting impact, resonating not only within your community but also reaching far beyond. Your musical contributions have bestowed joy, positivity, and kindness upon the lives of many, serving as a poignant reminder of the transformative influence inherent in melodies and harmonies.” After the presentation, Meixner took the standing room only crowd through a musical journey showcasing the many varied styles and influences that helped shape his musical vision, set against the backdrop of a powerful Texas thunderstorm brewing outside. The Happy Music Ambassadors program proudly acknowledges and celebrates individuals who epitomize the spirit of happiness and inspire others through their musical pursuits.   The Quetschn Parade will be held at the Hall of the Municipality of Fladnitz in Fladnitz an der Teichalm, Weiz, Styria, Austria on May 4th, 2024, from 9am to 9pm, organised by the Quetschn Academy.The event will feature live music performances and one of the largest accordion exhibitions in Austria with over 70 different models that are available for visitors to try. Manufacturers will be on hand to answer questions and give support. The Quetschn Academy will be on site to assist with anyone wanting to learn the Styrian harmonica instrument. The event finale will feature a concert by “Die Wuzis” which includes accordionist Thomas Holzer (picture above right) and a raffle with a prize of a Styrian harmonica. Admission is free of charge. |

| The Amalgalis Duo (Poland) of Ewa Grabowska-Lis & Daniel Lis will perform a concert and hold a masterclass in Italy from April 8th, 2024. The concert will take place at the Auditorium del Carmine in Parma, Emilia-Romagna, Italy on April 8th at 6pm. Their program will include works by Vivaldi, Fauré, Krzanowski, J.S. Bach, Dowlasz, Franck, Piazzolla, Iturralde and Karlov. Admission is free of charge. | The Bachtopus Accordion Ensemble will perform a free concert at the Third Street Music School in New York City, USA on April 11th, 2024 at 7pm. Their program will include old and new music by J.S. Bach, Peter Flint, Conrad Cummings, Amy Denio, Guy Klucevsek, Nathan Koci, Giovanni Valentini, and more. The hour-long program of music will span 400 years, both written for and adapted to the accordion, and it “promises to be an engaging night of wide-ranging music”. |
