The Dargaville Museum which houses the superb Accordion Gems by Kevin Friedrich ... A Master Collection of Accordions through Time... is also the venue of the Kevin Friedrich and Friends 2022 Christmas Concert It is with real excitement that the Dargaville Museum announces the resumption of the popular fundraising concert series that have so often filled the Dargaville Museum Function Center to capacity. "Christmas Joy" will be held on Sunday December 4th at 1:00 PM and will once again bring our community and guests together for a magnificent and entertaining afternoon of music and friendship. This family variety holiday show hosted by Kevin Friedrich, the concert will feature Holiday favorites, a few sing-along songs and some surprises as presented by an array of artists including: North Shore Accordion Orchestra (conducted by Heather Masefield and Christine Johnstone) with members including Grayson Masefield, Maurice Jones, Lian Jones and Kevin Friedrich; Lionel Reekie (vocalist and accordionist), Alanah & Maurice Jones (vocalist), Jone Yelcich (vocalist), Rivertown Singers and Take 6 (choir), Thomas Koloi (piano and vocals),Sonja Whitehouse as soloist and with her Kaipara Ensemble, Ros Gilmour (vocalist), Linda Emmett Litt (percussion) and more. Concert organiser Margaret Tier has been busy scheduling rehearsals and reports that all is on track for another outstanding community event showcasing an impressive lineup of talented performers. The Dargaville Museum hosts the only public accordion exhibition in the Southern Hemisphere “Accordion Gems, A Master Collection of Accordions Through Time”. Established and curated by Kevin Friedrich, the 150 instruments on display showcase the fascinating evolution of the instrument over its nearly 200 year history. Tickets are $20 per adult with Youth (15 & under) free. Both Adult and free Youth tickets are available from the Dargaville Museum. We look forward to seeing you there! |
