 On Sunday March 13th, 1.30pm onwards, the second ‘Accordion Showcase’ takes place at the church Renfield St Stephen’s, 260 Bath Street, Glasgow G2 4JP, Scotland. This event involves an afternoon trade show (open from 1.30pm until 9.30pm) and workshops (1.30pm until 3pm and 3.30pm until 5pm), an afternoon concert from 2.30pm until 5pm, followed by an evening concert from 7pm until 10pm. The event organiser is Roy Hendrie. The workshop leaders are Robert Black – ‘Jazz’ (1st workshop) and ‘Playing Second Box’ (2nd workshop), Cristiano Lui – ‘Tango’, and John Sommerville – ‘Folk’. The afternoon concert features the Jimmy Blair Accordion Orchestra (MD Gary Blair), Roy Hendrie, Harry Hussey, and the St Roch’s Ceili Band. The evening concert features Leonard Brown, Gary Blair, John Sommerville, Kevin Murphy, Djorde Gajic, and special guest Cristiano Lui & guitarist Stefano Ciotola (Italy). |
