 Friedrich Lips - bayan, Vladislav Igolinsky - violin, Kirill Rodin – violoncello, and Svjatoslav Lips – piano, have had a very active concert season. In March they had a very successful tour in Austria including concerts at the Viennese accordion festival, Gleisdorf, Salzburg (photo in front of Mozart’s birth place), Bad Leonfelden and Lavamünd. Last week they have been performing in Lipezk, Russia. These are musicians of the very highest order. The technical proficiency in every piece is impeccable! Their dynamics are far-reaching; each instrument is heard regardless of the wealth of musical sound produced. After the Austrian tour with his Piazzolla-Studio Friedrich Lips gave master classes at the Private University in Vienna and Musikum Salzburg, solo concerts in Kapfenberg, Salzburg and Stift Rein (see photo). Friedrich Lips’ and the two Piazzolla-Studio CDs ‘Buenos Dias, Astor!’ and ‘La Cumparsita’ are especially fine recordings of tango music, including many pieces by Piazzolla.
