General Eligibility - Coupe Mondiale, 2003
  • There is no limit of numbers of candidates from each country.
  • Candidates up to 32 years of age are allowed to enter the competition - year of birth, born 1971 or later. All entries must include a copy of birth certificate of the candidate.

Candidates Programme - Coupe Mondiale, 2003

INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION FOR ACCORDION SOLOISTS (COUPE MONDIALE) 2003. There will be three (3) rounds:
Round I - Testpiece Section
  • Testpiece: "Holiday Memories" by Stanislav Hochel (right)
    (1) Polka
    (2) Lullaby
    (3) Valse
    (4) Perpetuum Mobile
    (5) Quasi Tango

    Candidate must choose any THREE (3) movements. The Test Piece is available on request from the CIA Secretariat or you may request it online.
  • any Prelude and Fugue from the Well Tempered Clavier, Book I or II, by J.S. Bach
  • any Sonata by Domenico Scarlatti
    (The Testpiece (any three movements), the Bach Prelude & Fugue and the Scarlatti Sonata must be played in one sitting and may be played in any order.)
Round II - Complete Original Work
  • One complete original work for the accordion
Round III - Choice Program
  • Own-choice programm consisting of three (3) or more pieces of different styles and characters.
  • Playing time: minimum 20 minutes to maximum 30 minutes. Failure to observe minimum or maximum playing time will result in a mark penalty by the jury.
Prizes and Awards - Coupe Mondiale, 2003
  • All candidates shall receive a Diploma of participation
  • 1st: SKK 25,000, 2nd: SKK 14,000, 3rd: SKK 10,000
  • National member associations are requested to offer concerts or a tour for the 1st Prize Winners.
  • All winners must be present in person at the awards ceremony in appropriate attire. In case of absence, the prize may be accepted by a delegate of their country. Diplomas will be mailed by the Secretariat.
