Paul Chamberlain Concert, Scotland – UKby Rob Howard |
On Saturday July 25th, Edinburgh-based accordionist Paul Chamberlain performed a concert in Haddington Town House as part of the summer classical concerts series. The capacity audience enjoyed a mixed programme, including works by Bach, Angelis, Repnikov, Nagayev, and Franck. Paul also included one of his own compositions ‘Neva’, and finished with a rousing rendition of ‘Figaro’. For most in the audience it was the first time that they had heard classical accordion and were greatly impressed at the instrument’s capabilities. From October, Paul will be continuing his studies with Dr Djordje Gajic at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music & Drama in Glasgow where he will be the first undergraduate student to study accordion on the new course that was introduced last year. |
