ESTRENO MUNDIAL DE LA SONATA Nº3 DE VIATCHESLAV SEMIONOV – MOSCÚ – RUSIAby Yulia Amerikova |
 Vídeo superior: extracto del 3er movimiento de la sonata nº3 de V. Semionov interpretado por Yuri Shishkin.El 21 de noviembre se celebró el esperado estreno mundial de la tercera sonata del prestigioso acordeonista y compositor ruso Viatcheslav Semionov (imagen de la izda.). El estreno se produjo en el Big Concert Hall de la Moscow House of Composers, como parte del XXXV International Contemporary Music Festival “Moscow Autumn”. Finalmente titulada “Recuerdo del futuro” la Sonata nº3 consta de tres movimientos (Moderato, Andantino, Maestoso con Moto) adoptando una forma heredada del Clasicismo. Los movimientos contrastan entre sí altamente: lírica, drama e intensidad. Semionof se inspira en la cita de Henirich Heine: “si el amor vive en nuestras almas, somos eternos”. El estreno se materializó a través de las manos de uno de los mejores alumnos de Semionov de toda la historia, concertista internacional y Honorable Artista de Rusia: Yuri Shishkin. El estreno fue un éxito rotundo. La segunda interpretación de la obra se realizará el 11 de diciembre en el homenaje al 50 cumpleaños de Yuri Shishkin, como parte del Festival Internacional “Bayan y Bayanistas” en Moscú.  Vídeos: Último éxito galardonado con el Disco de Oro de Orosz Zoltan. Tico-Tico. El acordeonista húngaro Orosz Zoltan interpretó conciertos en al Kalsa College, una escuela pública y en la Academia India de Bellas Artes, Amtrizar. Los conciertos fueron patrocinados por la Embajada Húngara como parte del programa de intercambio cultural entre el folk húngaro y ruso. Orosz Zoltan comenzó a tocar el acordeón a la edad de 4 años. A los 11 asistió al Instituto Béla Bártok en Budapest y más tarde perfeccionó sus estudios en la Ferenc Liszt Teacher Training University. Ganó la Competición Nacional de Acordeón de Hungría en 1998, 1999 y 2000, desde entonces no ha dejado de crecer como intérprete así como de obtener considerables éxitos. | El popular programa radiofónico de la BBC “Take de floor” será anfitrión de dos importantes grabaciones en diciembre de 2013. La primera se realizará el domingo 1 de diciembre a las 15:00h, en el Dunecht Village Hall. Se celebrará un Variety Style Show, en el que el acordeón ocupará un lugar especial. El evento será conducido por el acordeonista Lain Cathcart y su Scottish Dance Band. La segunda grabación será el viernes 6 de diciembre en el contexto de los Traditional Music Awards que se celebra este año en Aberdeen.  Amerian concert accordionist Mary Tokarski has released a new Christmas CD just in time for the Holiday Season. Mary invites listeners to enjoy her idea of Christmas music, as she explains her choice of pieces."March of the Toys and Parade of the Wooden Soldiers were childhood “favorites” of mine. On Thin Ice and Slippery Slope are representative of Connecticut winters (Can you imagine Santa Claus arriving on the ice, and sliding down that snowy, slippery slope?) What better way to enjoy the holidays than going over to the Shopping Center – everyone’s favorite pastime during the Christmas season. Moon River is from one of my favorite movies “Breakfast At Tiffany’s”, while Chopin’s Polonaise in A Major brings visions of grandeur to celebratory events and church services. Prior to that, he had won many famous high-level international competitions: - The international competition in Klingenthal (Germany, 2002), - The X International competition in Arrasate-Mondragon (Spain 2002), - The International competition in Castelfidardo (Italy, 2003 and a special prize from "Excelsior"), - Grand-Prix at the 5th International competition "Cup of the North" in Cherepovets, - Grand-Prix at the International competition "Shabyt" in Astana (Kazakhstan, 2004), - The International competition "Trophee Mondial" (Bourboule, France, 2005). | The London-based Morley Accordion Orchestra (MD Ian Watson) recently released a CD, 'Europa', and this has now been released on iTunes, via Amazon, and lots of other online shops. This second album was recorded live in London, and is named after Jason Carr's 'Europa', which received its premiere performance in the concert. A whistle stop tour around Europe, from scary Moscow to sleepy Madrid to jazzy Rome, this performance is full of surprises and real quality playing. Also featured on the album is '2012', an Olympic inspired piece written for the orchestra by its conductor, Ian Watson. Morley Accordion Orchestra, formed in 1999, meets at Morley College, 61 Westminster Bridge Rd, London SE1 7HT. The MAO plays a wide variety of music - from original works for accordion orchestra to show tunes and film scores. There are now 30 members of the orchestra and for concerts are joined by percussionists. In May 2013 MAO performed at the World Music Festival in Innsbruck, Austria. Future plans include a Christmas Concert at the Lost Theatre, London, on December 8th at 3pm and the release of their 2nd album, ‘Europa’. In 2014 MAO will host a joint concert with the Nuremburg Accordion Orchestra at St. John's, Smith Square, Westminster, on June 8th. For further information email: morleyaccordions@gmail.com |

 An ‘Accordion Play In’ – an all-day orchestra event - takes place at the Academy of Music Drama and Dance in Deinze, Belgium, on Saturday November 30th, from 9am. The conductors are Matthias Lens and Emmy Gysels, and the event concludes with an evening concert featuring all the music practised during the day, and there will be performances by the West Flemish Accordion Orchestra, conducted by Rik Rabaey, and the Royal Accordion Club ‘The Harmonikavrienden’, conducted by Matthias Lens.  The National Yiddish Theatre, ‘Folksbiene’, presents a remarkable concert event celebrating the folk legend and actor Theodore Bikel in anticipation of his 90th birthday in May 2014. ‘Miracle of Miracles: A Chanukah Extravaganza’ takes place at Symphony Space, 2537 Broadway, New York, on Monday December 2nd, 7.30pm. Featured in the all-star cast are the beloved Emmy-winning actor Fyvush Finkel, klezmer giant Frank London, the Russian concert phenomenon Psoy Korolenko and the Broadway actors Joanne Borts (‘Once’) and Elmore James, among many others. Accordionist Lauren Brody will be in the orchestra. Theodore Bikel, the Oscar-nominated and Emmy-winning actor, folk singer and political activist, will make a special appearance supported by the Frank London-led Folksbiene Klezmorim Orchestra. Vienna-born Bikel earned a best supporting actor Oscar nomination in 1958 for ‘The Defiant Ones’. He had major roles in ‘The Blue Angel’, ‘My Fair Lady’, and ‘The Russians Are Coming, the Russians Are Coming’. He also created the role of Baron von Trapp in the original production of ‘A Sound of Music’ on Broadway. He has played Tevye in ‘Fiddler on the Roof’ over 2000 times on Broadway and elsewhere, beginning in 1967. A world-renowned folk singer, social activist and spokesman for liberal Jewish causes, he also was a former president of Actors’ Equity. |

 French accordion virtuoso Richard Galliano has the following forthcoming concerts:November 29th – solo recital, Brescia, Italy December 2nd – benefit concert, Toulouse, France December 6th – Tangaria Quartet concert, Martigues, France December 15th – Piazzolla, Satie, Taiwanese folk songs concert, Taipei, Taiwan Richard Galliano (born 1950) studied at the Academy of Music in Nice, and after winning the Junior and Senior CMA Trophee Mondiale in 1966 and 67, embarked on a highly successful professional career, with a special interest in playing jazz. Over the years Galliano has worked and recorded with Juliette Greco, Charles Aznavour, Chet Baker, Bireli Lagrene, Wynton Marsalis, Toots Thielmans, and many more.  The East Antrim Junior Accordion Group and the Missing Time Duo are the guests at the Northern Box & Fiddle Club on Wednesday December 4th, 8pm. There is a change of venue, and this concert is at Kinahan's Restaurant, Hilton Templepatrick Hotel & Country Club, Castle Upton Estate, Templepatrick, Belfast, BT39 0DD.The evening will be a mix of traditional Irish, Scottish, singalong, and Continental music with some Christmas favourites to get everyone in the Christmas spirit. Musicians are invited to bring their instruments and join in the stramash/session. |

| Stockport Accordion Club’s annual concert in aid of the East Cheshire Hospice takes place at the Broken Cross Club, Macclesfield, Cheshire SK11 8TU on Friday December 6th, 7.45pm. The Stockport AC Band (MD Derek Stubbs) will be performing, and club President Pearl Fawcett-Adriano and Vice President Walter Perrie will both do cabaret spots. Last year’s concert raised a record £1,400. The organizer is SAC member John Jones MBE. On Saturday December 7th, 11am for one hour, Stockport AC members will be playing Christmas music at The Lowry Shopping Mall, Salford, in aid of The Christie. There will be live music all day in this fund raising effort, and Stockport AC are first on, regaling the shoppers with the sound of accordions.
