Gorka Hermosa gewinnt PIF-Kompositionswettbewerb - Italienby Christine Johnstone |
 Video: Demo-Audio von "Dwarves 'Tales".Gorka Hermosa (Bild links - Spanien) hat den PIF Classic & Ensemble Composition Akkordeon-Wettbewerb 2020 gewonnen. Das jährliche Thema des Festivals war "Alle Farben der Welt". Neunzehn Werke wurden in diesem Jahr eingesandt und die Organisatoren waren beeindruckt von dem hohen künstlerischen Niveau der Kompositionen. Die Jury bestand aus Friedrich Lips (Vorsitzender - Russland), Franck Angelis (Frankreich), Livio Bollani (Italien), Antonio Cericola (Italien), Bete Ilin (Mazedonien), Pascale Martinez (Frankreich), Petri Makkonen (Finnland) und Massimiliano Pitocco (Italien) Italien), Volodymyr Runchak (Ukraine), Simona Simonini (Italien) und Peter Soave (USA). Gorka Hermosas Komposition "Dwarves 'Tales" wurde ursprünglich von den Berliner Philarmonikern für die Frühlingsfestspiele in Berlin in Auftrag gegeben, eine Veranstaltung, die aufgrund von Covid-19 verschoben wurde. Gorka beschloss, die ersten Ideen und die Orchestrierung für den PIF-Wettbewerb anzupassen. 2. Platz: Zhao Xiaoxiang (China), Student des "Central Conservatory of Music" in Peking. 3. Platz: Wojciech Chalupka (Polen). Gorkas "Dwarves 'Tales" ist das obligatorische Teststück der Kategorie PIF 2020 Premium und wird am letzten Abend des PIF-Wettbewerbs am 20. September 2020 bei einer Weltpremiere aufgeführt. |

 Das 3. und letzte Konzert der Reihe "Bayan and Accordion Stars" findet am 7. März 2021 um 19 Uhr in der Kammerhalle der Moskauer Philharmonie statt.Dieses Konzert beinhaltet eine Aufführung des Piazzolla-Studio-Quartetts, zu dem Friedrich Lips (Bild rechts) gehört, der von Vladislav Igolinsky (Violine), Kirill Rodin (Cello) und Sviatoslav Lips (Klavier) begleitet wird. Das Konzert wird von Andrey Ustinov präsentiert. Eine aktualisierte Biografie zum 70.  Täglicher Bericht: Videobilder und Ergebnisse unter: 2020SouthPacDie New Zealand Accordion Association veranstaltet am 30. Mai 2020 aufgrund von Covid-19 eine sehr verkürzte Version der Solo-Klassen der South Pacific International Championships. Die Veranstaltung wird online ohne Publikum und nur mit wenigen Meisterschafts-Solokategorien ohne internationale Gäste oder internationale Konkurrenten stattfinden, da die Sperrregeln verhindern, dass internationale Personen nach Neuseeland reisen.  Accordionist Renee de la Prade has announced an art deadline extension for the 2021 edition of the Accordion Babes Pin-Up Calendar. The new deadline is July 10th, 2020.The extension gives everyone plenty of time to book plans and back-up plans for the photo shoots in these crazy times of Covid-19. Also, it will still allow her to release this calendar in September, 2020 which is when all the other calendars turn up in stores. If you would like to do a photo shoot for this edition please email Renee at: editor@accordionpinupcalendar.com As Covid-19 has also led to the cancellation of summer accordion gigs, Renee is continuing with her weekly Friday online concerts. Accordionists are welcome to book with Renee to perform at these concerts. |

 "Coronavirus Wails" by Russian group "Ayushka" is a song about the trials and tribulations of the Covid-19 quarantine in Russian language with English subtitles.With the lockdown still in place in many parts of the world, Sverdlovsk Philharmonic's Ayushka Russian folk group which includes accordionist Vladimir Zykin (picture left), came up with this song, quite uplifting despite the gloomy name. Performers: Artistic Director, Honored Artist of Russia Vladimir Zykin (accordion), Mikhail Bedarev (vocals), Evgenia Drokina (domra) and Artem Kirillov (balalaika). Music by A. Vladimirtsev (arranged by V. Zykin), lyrics by K. Ryzhov (arr.V. Zykin). The group wish positive thoughts to everyone around the world! |

  Following the cancellation of the August Stowe Tango Music Festival and Bandoneon International Competition because of Covid-19, organisers have announced the festival has moved online this year.Festival performances will begin this weekend with music workshops, conversations & interviews with guests and more! Upcoming events include: May 30th at 2:30pm (ET): Cuarteto Rotterdam (picture below) which includes Michael Dolak (bandoneon), Susanne Cordula Welsch (violin), Judy Ruks (piano) and Anna-Maria Huhn (double bass). May 31st at 10am (ET): Dutch International Tangoweek 2020 with performances by Trio Martin de Ruiter, Bandonegro (which includes bandoneonist Michal Glówka - picture right), Cuarteto Rotterdam, Ensemble Hyperion (which includes bandoneonist Nicolas Maceratesi) and more. | Crooners Supper Club in Minneapolis (MN), will begin their drive-in concerts next week entitled “Live at Crooners” along with other in-house dining and concert experiences as permitted by the state’s guidelines. This is a safe, socially-distanced series that will continue indefinitely due to Covid-19. On June 3rd, Dan Newton's Cafe Accordion Orchestra will perform with special guest Brian Barnes, beginning at 7pm. They will play a mix of French flare, Latin heat and Bohemian attitude along with swing, ballads, tangos, cha chas, rumbas, and cumbias to create a wonderfully varied show. | Popular Welsh Band “Mabon” had planned their “Last Huzzah!” Tour for 2020, however Covid-19 foiled their farewell tour. So, instead of retiring gracefully this summer as planned, they have rescheduled as many as possible of their cancelled gigs into one noisy burst next spring – March to May 2021. They will still play one last, vibrant blast of MABON music, which is planned for the Easter holidays of 2021. At this stage, no tickets will be for sale as many venues are closed. Further confirmation details will be released as soon as possible. The band includes Jamie Smith (accordion & vocals), Oliver Wilson-Dickson (fiddle & vocals), Ron Juppy (guitar & vocals), Matt Downer (electric & upright basses & vocals) and Iolo Whelan (drums, percussion & vocals). 2021 Tour dates are: 30th March: CARDIFF - Saint David's Hall 31st March: DEVON - Pavilions Teignmouth 1st April: LONDON - Cecil Sharp House 3rd April: LIVERPOOL - Philharmonic Hall 6th April: DORSET - Bridport Arts Centre 7th April: NOTTINGHAM - Lakeside Arts 9th April: BUILTH WELLS - Wyeside Arts 10th April: CARDIGAN - Theatr Mwldan Further dates will be released shortly.  WAD2020 9. Mai beinhaltet:Eine Einführung von Xu Xiaonan (China) über seine Erfahrungen beim CIA Coupe Mondiale, 2012 in Spoleto, Italien, wo er der erste chinesischen Gewinner des Coupe Mondiales war. Anschließend spielt er mit dem Pianisten Xu Gehui seine eigene Komposition „Breeze in Summer“. Eine Aufführung von Matthias Matzke (Deutschland), der 2011 die Coupe Mondiale Junior Virtuoso Entertainment-Klasse und 2014 die Digital Accordion-Klasse gewann. Matthias spielt Ghost Love Score - Nightwish. Ein Interview mit dem DHV-Vizepräsidenten Georg Hettman, der Informationen über den DHV gibt, z. B. was die Organisation anbietet, wo sie tätig ist und Mitglieder der Organisation. Anschließend präsentiert er eine Aufführung der HUMI Accordion Band (Polen), die beim Innsbruck Festival den 1. Platz der Jugendabteilung des Mixed Instrumentation Orchestra belegte. Georg Hettman wird dann von Andreas Nebl, Mitglied des CIA-Musikkomitees, und Bernhard van Almsick, CEO des Hohner Konservatoriums, begleitet, die interessante Interviews über Musikstile geben und wie die Schule den Schülern hilft, ihren eigenen Musikstil zu finden. Es folgt eine Video-Performance von Felix Fritschi. Ein Auftritt des früheren Coupe Mondiale-Gewinners Valerio Russo, der eine Komposition von Renzo Ruggieri aufführt. Ein interessantes Interview und eine Aufführung mit Vincent van Amsterdam von NOVAM (Niederlande) und Aufführungen von ihrem 90-jährigen Jubiläumskonzert. Es folgen Informationen zum Akkordeon in den Niederlanden. Interview und Performance mit dem Professor der Royal Danish Academy of Music, Geir Draugsvoll, der über die Akademie, Lehrer, Programme usw. zusammen mit verschiedenen Performance-Videos spricht. Interview und Performance mit Mikk Langeproon von Eesti Akordioniliit (Estonian Accordion Society), der über ihre Gesellschaft, Mitglieder und von ihnen organisierte Veranstaltungen spricht.
