The 68th Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann will be held on the north east coast of Ireland for the first time in it’s history, 12th-19th August 2018. The Fleadh is now the largest and most unique cultural festival in the world with a huge diatonic, concertina and accordion participation in the musical groups and competitions. Drogheda, one of the oldest towns in Ireland, announced a €130,000 sponsorship by Drogheda, district vintners and hotels with the sponsorship backed by all the publicans in Drogheda and their suppliers. Over 1,000 volunteers will be required to help stage this year’s Fleadh and ensure that Drogheda offers an enjoyable experience for the 400,000 visitors expected to descend on the area this August.
