 Italiens Pietro Adragna (Bild links) gewann in Rom den 5. Internationalen Roland V-Accordion Wettbewerb, der am 21. Oktober und 22. stattfand. Daily Reports / Tägliche Berichte gibt es unter 2011 Rom Festival online. Lesen Sie im Detail über die Konkurrenten, die Jury, Gäste und Ergebnisse.Es waren Teilnehmer aus 14 Ländern, darunter Italien, UK, USA, Deutschland, Ungarn, Brasilien, Kanada, Spanien, Russland, Frankreich, Niederlande, Japan und China. Es wurden berücksichtigte die besten technischen Fähigkeiten, musikalische Interpretation und die Fähigkeit, das Potenzial der digitalen Akkordeons am besten zur Schau zu stellen. Zur internationalen Jury gehörten Raymond Bodell (UK), Sam Falcetti (USA), Graham Laurie (UK), Joseph Macerello (Kanada), Kimmo Mattila (Finnland) und Andreas Nebl (Deutschland). Der Sieger war Pietro Adragna mit 166,4 Punkten, 2. Matthias Matzke (Deutschland) mit 165,8, und 3. war Qi Ma (China) mit 164. Letztere gewann den Ron Lankford Award, der von einer separaten Jury aus Journalisten gewählt wurde. Der Konzertabend begann mit den talentierten und erst 9 und 11 Jahren alten Brüder Alessandro und Gabriele Guglielmi, die ein Programm an komplexer klassischen Musik für diatonisches Akkordeon aufführten. "Taranta", die Volkstanzgruppe, mit Danilo Di Paolonicola am Roland V Akkordeon begeisterte turbulent das Publikum und die Präsentatorin war Schauspielerin und Sängerin Mascia Foschi, die von Sergio Scappini am Akkordeon begleitet wurde.  Die diesjährige Edition der Las Vegas International Accordion Convention, organisiert von Paul Pasquali findet vom 31. Oktober - 3 NOVEMBER im Gold Coast Casino Hotel, 4000 West Flamingo Rd., Las Vegas statt.Die Veranstaltung beginnt mit einem Masquerade Dinner Concert, mit Peter und Mady Soave, Mario Tacca und Mary Mancini, und Bruce Gassman. Es sind mehr als 50 Workshops und Kurse geplant. Dr. Ian Blair Fries, MD, ein orthopädischer Chirurg, ist die neue Ergänzung und wird ein einzigartiges Workshop über die Anatomie der Hand und das Akkordeon bieten. Weitere Konzerte während der Woche gibt es mit Frank Marocco, Alexander Sevastian, die Soundscape Akkordeon Trio, Mary Tokarski, und Angelo Di Pippo und den Akkordeon-Kings.  Das Beltango Quintet (Serbien) ist eine der dynamischsten Tango-Gruppe, bekannt für ihre Shows von schöner Musik, Gesang und Tanz, die sie in aller Welt touren ließen.In der ersten November Woche gibt es Beltango Konzerte während des Belgrader Tango Festivals2011 und Auftritte beim Festival Du Tango Au Lazaret in Frankreich.  Das 62. All Scotland Accordion & Fiddle Festival fand im Anrede Hotel, Perth, Schottland, am Samstag, 29. Oktober statt und begann mit einer Ceilidh Begrüßung am 28. Oktober und der Musik von der Iain Anderson Scottish Dance Band. Der folgende Tag war den Wettbewerben für Akkordeon und Geige, an denen überwiegend Soloabschnitte, plus Trio und Band Kategorien, gewidmet. Die Akkordeon Wertungsrichter: Ian Muir, Scott Gordon, Tom Orr und James Coutts. Das Grand Finale Konzert mit Akkordeon-Duo Gary Blair Senior und Junior, Bryan Gear (Geige) von dem Pianisten Violet Tulloch begleitet, und Iain Cathcart und seine Broadcasting Band. |

  Paddy O'Brien, from County Offaly, All Ireland diatonic button accordion champion in 1975, has just released ‘Mixing The Punch’, his second solo recording. Playing his 1947 Paolo Soprani accordion, Paddy is accompanied by Teresa Baker, a pianist from Portland, Oregon, USA. | The Accordions Worldwide news for October 24th 1997 included a true story concerning Leo Lim Peng Hor, a disabled accordionist whose problems with the city authorities in Singapore about busking in public happily resulted in licenses being issued. BLIND BUSKER AMONG FIRST TO SEEK LICENCE – SINGAPORE Southeast Asian newspaper "Straits Times" featured an article in early October on a blind busker Leo Lim Peng Hor, 38, who has performed illegally for 11 years and was among the first to apply for his busking licence. "I have three accordions and many harmonicas in the police station," he said of the times he was caught busking unlawfully in the Orchard Road underpass near the MRT station "Each time they only chased me away, but my instruments were confiscated.” He added: "I have been giving my feedback to the authorities since 1986 that busking should be legalised. I am glad they have finally acted. This is especially good news for me, as I am disabled." He thinks it a good idea that licences will be given to buskers linked with arts organisations and that what they collect has to go to the arts. He said he had, in any case, been donating about S$15,000 a year to various charities such as the NAC, the Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped, and the Bishan Home for Intellectually Disabled. He also runs an entertainment company, Extra Touch Live Entertainment and Productions, which employs disabled performers. |
