| The Baillies Mills Accordion Band, which recently celebrated its 70th Anniversary with a concert and a capacity audience at the Waterfront Hall, Belfast, Northern Ireland, raised a substantial amount for various charities. Charities benefitting from the proceeds are Marie Curie Cancer Care, Camphill Communities Trust (N.I.) and Stepping Stones (N.I.) Each will receive a cheque for £2,500. The Baillies Mills Accordion was invited to lead the Independence Day Parade in Bergen, Norway on May 17th 2010 - the first accordion band from the UK who have been invited to join the celebrations and mark the day in 1814 when Norway became independent from Denmark. |
