| The ‘President’s Night’ concert at Stockport Accordion Club on January 26th proved to be a fantastic evening, filled with a variety of players and styles. The music included Scottish, Irish, French, Latin, jazz, and classical pieces – including compositions by Pietro Frosini, Richard Galliano, Matyas Seiber, Smetana, Henry Mancini, Fats Waller, Leybach, and Curt Mahr. The Stockport AC Band (MD Tony Ainscough) and Orchestra (MD Brian Jenkins) opened the concert, followed by Rob Howard, Damian Kujawski, Brennan Wilson, duet: Leo Hickey/John Curvis, duet: Norbert/Dorothy, Tony Wynroe, Helen Berta, Martina Hall, Walter Perrie, Phil Watson, quartet: John Trigg/Derek Pritchard/Adrienne Sharpe/Chris Green, quartet: John Trigg/Tony and Diana Ainscough/Betty Molloy, Pearl Fawcett-Adriano, and Johnny Coleclough. Stockport AC President Johnny Coleclough finished off a most enjoyable evening by leading all the players together in a mass rendition of ‘Spanish Eyes’, followed by ‘Scotland the Brave’, and other lively Gay Gordons tunes.
