XXIII City of Lanciano International Competition for Accordion Solo and Ensemble - Italyby Harley Jones |
 Above is video of three constestants who performed while I was attending the event.Organised by the City of Lanciano, Committee President Vladimir Zubitsky, Artistic Director Cesare Chiacchiaretta, Director Elena Evtikhovich and Secretary of Jury, Organiser Nikolaj Pretruk. The event runs from 25th September to 30th September evening finishing with a Gala Concert. Competitions are for all ages, solo (variete and classic), group, chamber music and orchestra categories plus many festival concerts. Thanks to Mirco Patarini, Artistic Director of Italian Accordion Culture (IAC) Italian member of the CIA, for taking me to visit the Lanciano Festival. The jury included professors and artists from Italy, Ukraine, Russia, Czech, Lithuania, Austria, Kazachstan, Hungary, Poland. View the group photo with many very well known professors/performers.
