Les Nuits de Nacre Festival, Tulle – Limousin/France

Les Nuits de Nacre
The 23rd Nuits de Nacre accordion festival takes place from September 16th to 19th in the town of Tulle, in the Limousin region. The festival includes eighty concerts and events in many venues, including the cathedral, with most performances free and held outdoors. The programme begins in the late afternoon and finishes in the early hours of the morning.

Les Nuits des Nacres features a variety of French and international music, including jazz, musette, rock, Celtic, swing, and Cajun. The guests this year include Prowpuskovic, La Milca (featuring accordionist Domi Emorine), Les Denicheurs, Les Filles du bord de scène, Richard Galliano, Chloé Lacan, Illico Presto, Jigajack Musette, Les Gonelons, Quartet Pierre Mussi, Gallina la lupa, Les Garçons Trottoirs, Manaswing, Thierry Svahn, Orchestre Mathieu Martinie, BATpointG, Paris-Moscow Duo, Emilie Cadiou, Duo Karine et Fabrice Charpentier, Orchestre Rémi Sallard (featuring Altéro Betti), La Maïnada, Les Enfants de Tulle, Johnny Clegg, The Bavest, Caroline Loeb, Manaswing, Ni vu ni connu, Le Bal des Martine, Gufo, Olivier Manoury, Orchestre Christian Peschel, Azzango, Juliette Greco, Nos Zigues, and Bogdan Nesterenko.

The festival also offered films, dancing, workshops, and free factory tours of the Maugein accordion factory. Tulle’s accordion museum is another attraction, whose exhibits include accordions used by Marc Bonel, who was accompanist to Edith Piaf for many years.
