World Café performs Vivaldi’s ‘Four Seasons’, Franschhoek – South Africaby Rob Howard |
The trio World Cafe - Stanislav Angelov – accordion, Petrus de Beer - violin, and Schalk Joubert – bass – perform Vivaldi’s ‘Four Seasons’ on Sunday October 28th, 1pm, at Café Bon Bon, La Petite Dauphine, Excelsior Road, 7690 Franschhoek, Western Cape. A three-course meal is available. Tickets are available at the door. This concert is an event in the Franschhoek Classic Music Festival. Antonio Vivaldi’s four violin concerti ‘The Four Seasons’, composed in 1723, is now one of all music’s most famous compositions. Vivaldi tried to portray his experiences of each of the seasons of the year through music and later wrote poetry to accompany the experience. With this rendition of the ‘Four Seasons’, listeners will experience the music, plus the poems, in a format not often heard - violin, electric bass and accordion. This riveting production leads to a selection of popular film music and cafe favourites to end the festival on a high note! For further information email: cafebonbon@lapetite.co.za |
