Li Li wins Margaret Chalmers $3,000 Scholarship - Australia

Li LiLi Li, has been successful in reaching the final and ultimately winning the $3000 Music Teachers' Association of NSW, Margaret Chalmers Memorial Scholarship. Li entered this instrumentalist scholarship competition on the Accordion and had to perform two pieces of contrasting styles in the 2009 MTA Scholarships Showcase Concert.

Li's category was of an extremely high standard of competition. There was such a buzz around the theatre when Li got onto the stage with the accordion. Li Li received a rapturous round of applause.

It was a wonderful afternoon of musical entertainment featuring some of the finest young musicians, including pianists, cellists, flautists and contemporary and operatic vocalists, who competed for some outstanding prize money.

Li Li won the largest prize for a solo performance. What fantastic exposure this was for the accordion.

Li Li has already completed her AMusA on the Accordion with Distinction, has nearly completed her piano AMusA, works full time as a pharmacist and has recently completed her pharmacy exams, not to mention, she sat for the Sydney University medicine entrance exams. A very multi-talented young lady.
