 The Accordions Worldwide news for the week ending October 22nd 1999 included a report from Panama announcing that Abdiel Angulo had won a national accordion competition. Accordion playing really is a worldwide activity. Gelo Cordova Competition – Panama Contributed by Marcela Alfaro The ‘Gelo Cordova’ competition for amateur accordionists was celebrated in Panama on September 23rd 1999 by performers from all over the country (as part of the Mejorana National Festival). Winner Abdiel Angulo received a Gabbanelli accordion, model Club 90, which was donated by Distribuidora Musical S.A. (Alfaro Company). The photo shows Abdiel receiving his award with Marcela Alfaro, Manager of the Alfaro Company, dressed in traditional Panamanian costume. |
